Tried Ganesh10in’s shake recipe. A word of warning for it. 1/2 cup of lecithin powder, for me, causes serious intestinal issues. Like, potentially embarrassing diuretic issues.
I went and looked up how much lecithin is considered an “overdose” for the average person, much less what the side affects are. Supposedly, there are “no known overdose” side effects, much less what constitutes an overdose.
The important thing I did learn, was that on the high end of average when prescribed, Lecithin is prescribed in 5 to 10 gram doses up to three times per day. Given that a “standard” “serving” according to the package my Lecithin powder came in is 1.5 tablespoons (equal to 10 grams of Lecithin) and one half cup of powder is 8 tablespoons (80 grams of Lecithin), it follows that the shake recipe Ganesh10in posted is likely to lead to digestion trouble. For me, it is an overdose on Lecithin.
I tried it again today with 1/4 cup of lecithin power, and so far no troubles, though it is too early to tell. If I run into the same problem, I will look into the other ingredients which are likely causing me the problem (possibly the Maca or the Bee Pollen).
