Possible Tissue Death? Please Help.

Hey all,

Here’s an update, I’m still alive and haven’t lost my penis although I do have a concave wound where the initial bruising was and it’s about a millimeter deep ): yes as it stands right now I’ve actually lost volume… I believe the tissue on this area was deprived of oxygen for too long and literally died… which is mind blowing to me because like I just told whacky, I experienced almost no pain. There was a bit of discomfort for a brief period which subsided and it wasn’t really enough to make think I was going testing my limits. What’s more is there was no discoloration when I did take everything off after my shift. Way more edema than I’ve EVER had but again, no darkness whatsoever at first. It wasn’t until maybe 5 minutes later I started feeling pains which just got worse and worse. I had thought discoloration would present almost immediately in response to tissues being compromised due to lack of oxygen (like how the head slowly darkens when hanging). F***ing wild.

Anyway.

The initial bruise was probably an inch and a half in length and maybe an inch wide on the top but mostly right side of my shaft just below the glans. The open wound was about 1” by 1” after the scab/top layers of flesh came off. And unfortunately it is STILL open and has depth ): I really hope this fills…

As you know I went to urgent care the first day back on 10/8 and since the wound just isn’t closing I went to another urgent care on I believe Monday or Tuesday (my days are really running together atm) and the doctor said it didn’t look infected and I have mace ration tissue (dark red) which means it’s healing. She also approved of my use of honey to promote healing and prevent infection and said she uses that for patients as well. However she did recommend I go to a urologist which I did do the best day so I believe that was Wednesday. This doctor told me to let it dry out a bit more (odd since o always read to keep a wound moist to promote healing) but I was wondering if this was what I needed to do as well because I have been using dressing which keep the wound moist (such as calcium alginate) and I did read that TOO MUCH moisture can delay healing… so since Wednesday I’ve had only a layer of the soft fabric gauze which looks like white netting (extremely breathable) and just a dab of the honey. I checked the wound last night and a part of the wound has scanned over (hopefully a good thing) but the rest looked a bit leaky still… which I’m not sure if I should be concerned.. he didn’t think it was infected either but just to be safe, prescribed an antibiotic. I’ll try to call him today and hopefully I can ask about leakage, if he thinks it’s safe to lightly pump to encourage blood flow, how he he feels about me sitting under my heat lamp for added circulation or even visiting a steam room (possibly unsafe if anything gets in the wound but possibly I bandage it first…) and how he feels about working out to increase circulation and heart rate as well. I don’t want to put too much stress on other areas of my body and take away any focus from the problem area it I just want to increase circulation… I’m trying to kegel throughout the day and also trying to get at least a semi erection a few times a day (not too hard to compromise the wound) to keep the blood flowing down there.

I’ll update as things progress but currently I’m at three weeks and I don’t see the likelihood of recovery to the point of massage, manuals, stretching or even sex or edging… being a potential anytime soon ): I imagine AT LEAST another week but that’s what I thought last week too… it may be several weeks at this rate. Perhaps I will alternate between moist and dry dressings. Once this scans over further, I may try switching to a moist dressing for a few days and then back to dry and possibly repeat as necessary. I may have been keeping it too moist at first but I do know for a fact keeping a wound to dry will take longer too. In the past I’ve kept Vaseline on other wounds and the would heal much faster than wounds which for no moisture barrier protection.

P.S. I have a few new pictures of anyone is interested in seeing the healing process. Haven’t been taking them consistently but it could be useful to others maybe. Might need a mods help with that though…
