I recall my early, intermediate and up to say January of this year in my late PE days…fighting this +1 thing that always had me beat.

I got to 7 inches, ideal…was obviously 8. Then I got to 8…but everyone is telling me about that one 9 inch guy they had. So I push on. I’m hovering between 8.75” and 9”Bpel. I should be proud, right?

Wrong. Cuz now it’s about NBPEL. And I have like 1-1.25” fat pad so I’m not even 8BPEL!

Around July of this year I got frustrated and came back to PE. And I realized…chasing this +1 is interminable. It just doesn’t end. And I’m tired of being in the shadow of a person so rare that he probably only got to said size using PE and is probably a member here!

As a matter of fact, I saw him here. That guy that is supposed to inspire fear and inadequacy in me, no matter how far I’ve come. And I don’t often comment on pictures but I commented on his. And the fact is…fat pad maintenance is tricky. I have 1” or so of it, despite being average to lean. I’m about 6 feet and 195lbs. Not overweight in the slightest but the fat pad is real.

Ganesh10in, the user in question, has to have less than 1” fat pad and has 9.25”BPEL at my last recollection. And it…didn’t make me feel inadequate. It made me realize how much work he put in. Sure, I’m jealous. He has a long, straight penis and this is what I’m after. Sure, combining his .5” increase over my 8.75” and my at least .5” more of fat pad he’s going to appear an inch longer than me.

But this is fine. Chasing him isn’t fair to me. Chasing anyone undermines the things I’ve accomplished in PE and my entire journey for the unique things it has done for me.

I had to realize that chasing the ghost +1” was keeping me from seeing what’s real.

I completely understand your perspective on this. I have created phantoms in my head as well. No matter how close I get to my goals, the goal posts move. I rationalize that I undershot in my first perspective and need to reconsider. I do this all the time and with everything. It’s good and it’s bad. It keeps me goal orientated and helps me achieve some pretty remarkable things. I’ve always said “aim for the stars because if you make it to the moon, you’ve made it farther than just about everyone.”

To put this in perspective, my wife told me that her all her ex ever did was work out always bragged about how strong he was. Statistically, he has a slim to none chance of beating me as my total puts me in the top 50 for my weight class. But when I deadlift 660 lbs, I think “well, he (or any other perceived enemy) must’ve hit over 700.” It goes on. It’s a vicious cycle. It’s irrational. I’ve been like this since I was a kid. I imagine a perceived threat and defeat it. Only, once I do “defeat it” I push even harder.

I think that the constant strive to get bigger is a healthy trait. (As long as it doesn’t get in the way of your other goals, family, etc.) I’m never content in anything that I spend time on. I am always setting new goals once I achieve the original goals I set. Once we get complacent what’s the point really?

The point is the goal itself. Torment to be more than your original goal isn’t the same as a striving to be more. Because if it negates your original goal and you can’t even enjoy what you have done in the shadow of inadequacy to a greater goal you have essentially destroyed the net benefits of your previous goal by downplaying it into being meaningless.

In shorter words(not really), hopefully this football reference is a good metaphor but…

Say you are a field goal kicker. You start at 40 yards, make it, move back to 50, make it then try 60 (which is around the record) and make it. How many points do you have? 9.

Say it happens this way. You go for 40 yards and make it, ref throws a flag. Only 50 yards or more counts. Now you go to 50 yards, 4th down kick. Same flag through the posts, 60 yards is the new standard, you make it…then kicking for points is removed as a mechanic to gain points and you’re penalized for an illegal manuever. Even though that’s a hall of fame kick you just made. How many points did you score this time? 0 and you feel like your accomplishments are not even have jack shit.

That’s the difference. This is how you get depressed after doing amazing things. By destroying your own self image. There’s a positive and negative way to excel. One leads to addiction and depression. The other to exaltation and contentment.

I don’t touch on my size often here. I don’t like aggrandizing myself. I find it in poor taste. But charts don’t lie. I’m not Ganesh10in or Titleist by a long shot but I need to realize where I am.

I can’t defeat a phantom that statistically will never exist in my path. Mathematically the chance of me finding the women in this part of the state who have fucked one of the probably 10 out of 400k males (who knows how many of those are even adults) my size or bigger is smaller than my chances of winning a multi-state lottery like Mega Millions or Powerball. And what’s more?

It does not matter. Even if she actually fucked 2 or 3 of those guys, there’s still no reason for me to get hung up. I can’t move the goal posts and destroy the value of what I’ve done. That’s not how building myself up works. That is the real lesson. And one day, at least in PE, we ought sit down and take stock and learn it. I try but sometimes it comes back and makes me crazy, that ghost of inadequacy. It’s incredibly irksome.

I do see where you’re coming from. I appreciate the progress I’ve made so far. If I get to my original goal size of 8x6 (might change to 8x5.5) do I think I’ll be content? I’m not sure. But if I do reach my goal and decide to strive for more so be it. It won’t be because I see myself as being inadequate. I’ve just always wanted a huge cock.

I’ll always remember where I started and appreciate the gains I’ve made. (No matter what size I end up at). I can see how it could get out of hand and unhealthy in some cases. It’s complete body dysmorphia. I just don’t believe I fall into that category. Not saying a lot of people don’t.

I was just offering why it is that simply striving for more isn’t always good. Definitely not saying it isn’t good inspiration or to push to greater goals. But to strive in the shade of inadequacy, the core of all body dysmorphia (not just penile) is to lose perspective and it’s common here. Guys asking “are they big?” aren’t just bragging. Some…literally don’t know. They’ve lost the objective sense of scale. And it’s these guys who suffer from the endless quest most. I was one. For years. And it baffled my best female friend who met me at 8” that I kept pushing for more…but she understood I didn’t see what she did.

Chasing a ghost is no way to the finish line. I just wanted to tell that part of this journey cuz so many guys envy my measurements. It is postulated that as long as my EQ is good that no downside to my size exists. I refute that here; nothing could be further from the truth.

I’m asking because I have sex usually twice a week and try to do it only on my rest days, but sometimes my wife just can’t wait and I have to do it anyway.

I’m wondering if that might be the reason I reached a plateau.

Sex and masturbation probably have a very similar effect on PE. I say this because a tired and worn-out penis is tired and worn out, no matter the cause. So it can slow and stall your gains.

However, plateaus are usually a failure of the routine to continue to stress your penis properly. And typically are still an issue even if you stop all masturbation and sex. Masturbation can be an issue while you have a plateau because what PE you attempt will go poorly but that said, you reach a plateau regardless of sex or masturbation.

My suggestion, if you were looking for one, would be to take two weeks off PE. Then start back for 2 weeks and see if you get positive PIs. Still try to keep sex to rest days for this 2 weeks if possible. If you get positive Physiologic Indicators you’ll probably benefit from keeping sex to rest days. If you don’t, you have probably reached a plateau for other reasons unrelated to your sexual activities and looking at your routine and a longer break would be suggested.

I’ve been adding a minimum of 10 minutes of masturbation at the end of my pump and clamp routine. I find it is very effective in removing built up lymph fluid.

I do take your point of the beat up penis. I find you can tell when you need a rest.

And as for the +1 factor. I was about to post that I was going to try for more length. Up till now I was happy with my length and was only focusing on girth. I’m still happy with my length however I saw an opportunity to increase my length by adding the newbie routine, which would also support girth gains and is in line with mixing it up thereby effectively adding a mini Deconditioning break each week.

You are correct. I look at the ruler and think, yeah 19cm would be good, then you know 20cm isn’t that much further and well 20cm is pretty close to 8 inches. And on it goes.

Yes, I feel the message and it loops around to Gratitude. I happy and grateful for 7 x 5.25. If I get to 7.5 x 5.5 I will be happy as well. If I stay the same I will be happy.

It pervades our society. The goal becomes more important than the journey. You focus on where you want to be more than being happy where you are now.

Goals are great things, except if you allow them to make you miserable on the journey.

Lightweight Routine #1-Stretching

thoughtfulgold Lightweight Stretching Routine

No supplies needed. Strictly something simple that occupies time that you can do between erections, I do them starting around 70% erection and allow my erection to decrease while doing them. I apparently can’t do a long break yet, I need to investigate manual stretching more as a solo benefit and I have been experimenting on and off for the last month. The best PIs for me were from the following (which is a simplified DLD Blaster):

Side and upwards stretches. I use my left arm to pull to my right side and upwards. Then I use my right arm to pull to my left and upwards. I hold each direction 10 seconds then I do 3 repetitions. Usually between an erection/edging session. I also do alternate stretching downwards with either hand, totaling 3, to match the stretching I do laterally and upwards. So…

Session Notes
Stretching leftwards and up (uses right hand). Each direction 10 seconds until warmth is felt in ligaments on side. Method is holding below glans in a strong OK grip and bringing the stretch to tension while inhaling, holding it without any strong force until exhalation. Upon exhale, pulling outward from body in chosen direction and performing reverse kegel. 3 repetitions per erection cycle.

Stretching rightwards and up (uses left hand). Each direction 10 seconds until warmth is felt in ligaments on side. Method is holding below glans in a strong OK grip and bringing the stretch to tension while inhaling, holding it without any strong force until exhalation. Upon exhale, pulling outward from body in chosen direction and performing reverse kegel. 3 repetitions per erection cycle.

Stretching downwards with alternate hands. Duration is 10 seconds, until warmth is felt in topside ligament/base area. Method is holding below glans in a strong OK grip and bringing the stretch to tension while inhaling, holding it without any strong force until exhalation. Upon exhale, pulling outward from body in chosen direction and performing reverse kegel.

Warmdown with some edging and massaging at leisure. Entire routine is maybe a half hour if done slowly but can be done much faster. It is simple, I do it every other day while “on break” and haven’t started anything official.

thoughtfulgold Advanced Routine #1: Pumping with ULI#3

thoughtfulgold Advanced Pumping Routine

This is an advanced routine. It combines 2 advanced maneuvers and is not to be overdone. If you do not have familiarity with long duration pumping or with ULI #3 and haven’t been doing PE for at least 1 full year do not attempt this combination. Results will vary and not likely in a good way. Additionally, if you have been at PE less than a year many other techniques less intense should still provide gains without the risk of this routine.

Routine Summary:

The purpose of this routine is to test how conditioned you are and push that just a bit. The goal at the end is a very large flaccid that is thick, without edema, and elongated and thus longer than your usual post workout flaccid size. It uses stretches to prep you to get a good ligament stretch during an extended pumping session. It also hits the tunica and Corpus Cavernosum pretty hard as much as possible. This should translate to gains in length and perhaps girth.

**If you cannot get a pumping sleeve, this routine will go entirely differently and is essentially not possible. Explained in detail below noted with “**”

Session Notes:

1. To warm up all you need to do is manual stretching. Whichever ones you are most comfortable with. But please be sure to stretch in all four directions. I change the stretches each time I warm up for this so it doesn’t seem terribly pivotal. Only making sure I emphasize left and right but do left, right, up and downward stretches before starting the pump is key. This takes from 3 to 12 minutes. I use the stretching routine mentioned above this post. Lightweight Routine #1-Stretching

2. When I begin to pump I place the silicone sleeve on my erection. I cut it so that an inch or two of the base is exposed (the base provides the seal without the help of the sleeve in this case) and it covers the mid shaft, giving the glans and some space beneath it as the sleeve may shift or may need to be adjusted. I also lubricate the outside of the sleeve as the gasket on the cylinder and the sleeve are the same material and can rub somewhat and be annoying when applying the cylinder.

I use the following pump routine. This is done from 30 to 90 minutes. I average around 45-60 minutes.: It should look familiar; this is my standard low pressure pump routine done with an electric pump
1.5 HG 30 seconds
3 Hg 30 seconds
2 hg 30 seconds
4 hg 30 seconds
3 hg 30 seconds
5 hg 30 seconds
1.5 30 seconds
4 hg 30 seconds
2 hg 30 seconds
5 hg 30 seconds

The heating pad is applied and charged while in physical contact with the cylinder in use. Applying a pre warmed up heating pad to a cold cylinder is uncomfortable and causes a sudden rise in temperature that almost feels as though it will burn the penis. Please avoid this by using the heating pad from when it is cold to when it is warm by leaving it in contact with the cylinder from start to finish and minimizing your burn risk. The same applies for the removal and replacement of the heating pad; please avoid.

3. The second active stage of the routine is the use of the ULI#3 exercise. My version used here uses a 10 second repetition. I hold at the base for 5 seconds, rhythmically kegeling blood into the penis by slightly loosening my grip in time with each kegel until I reach the most erection level I can (which if it is not 100% is fine) then I take 5 seconds to do the repetition up to the base of the glans with my O grip as tight as I can manage it at the base still.
This is done from 3-10 times. I average 5-6 of these repetitions.
**If your pumping session has resulted in you having edema/fluid build up/excessive swelling then do not perform this step. Fluid buildup is not something to be trifled with using a high pressure manual exercise!

4. Warmdown is gentle massaging, to erection a few times and a couple light manual stretches. This doesn’t need to take longer than 7-10 minutes.

Other Session Notes

1. Please note this is a warm, pliable and easily aroused penis. Edging is not recommended to warmdown. Massaging to erection then letting it soften a few times is adequate for engorgement purposes. As this is after a long duration pump session sensitivity issues could result if edging is performed for a long duration.
2. If you are using a manual pump, follow the pressure range but allow your comfort to stipulate how long you use the pressures listed. Results will vary if using a manual pump but the concept is the same and should not cause drastic changes if the pressures are mostly consistent.
3. ULI#3 count is decided by when the engorgement naturally begins to fade. Given the strain of long duration pumping and the ULI#3 when engorgement fades, even a little, that means you have reached the limit of what your penis is willing to cooperate with and while your PIs may be good you run the risk of damaging EQ and turtling the following day. My first count was 6, I had planned 10. I should have stopped with 5.
4. This routine is done on a 1 day on, 1 day off then 1 day on, 2 days off schedule. This is strict, as the strain is increasingly high on the penis and fatigue should result. This routine requires judicious application of self-restraint. Performing the routine to the maximum is not key to achieving the goal the routine sets out to reach. Performing this routine on consecutive days is not advised.
5. Do not push the envelope on either the pumping time or ULI#3 count when you first start this routine. Make sure you understand how stretching is done before attempting this routine.
6. A light ache on the sides of the penis in the areas of the tunica and CC is normal. Slightly warm is okay. Sharp is not. Avoid heavy manual stretching until ache subsides (typically in a few hours).

While I do not like to place excessive red text on a post, this is an advanced routine and the chances of error are enough for there to be significant concerns. This will be my routine until the beginning of November (with any luck).
