70% max tension 32 minutes. I’m going to start reporting incremental gains of tension/duration for the first session of the day - for greater accountability, discipline.

4/5/2018 Update

Having a log now for nearly a year I reviewed it to identify any info that could be correlated to periods of better progress. The one thing that stood out was that those periods in which there was longer duration of the sessions seems to lead to faster gains. And in addition those periods in which there was higher tension but shorter duration did not show as robust progress.

So with that in mind I’ve decided to explore an approach in which the duration is kept high and the tension is brought up much more slowly. I don’t have exact parameters on this in terms of days at a particular tension level, but I could clearly gather from the records that session duration of 55+ minutes was the most constructive.

So today lowered the tension to 20% of max tension for 60 minutes and we’ll go from here.

Only had ~ 45 minutes today was planning to stick with the program and just increase the tension 10%, but when I got there the tissues were very accommodating so I decided to take it a little further given the shorter duration. The highest previous tension at this extender length was 70% of max tension for 32 minutes. I was able to get it to that tension level with ease. So while I don’t have enough data points to be sure, it would seem that the longer duration sessions, is a good idea.

In any event it is good news as I was wondering if I was going to hit a plateau and I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen yet.

4/11/2018 Update

Last 4 days time was limited so just got shorter sessions in. Today well rested and have time so picking up where we left off. Continuing the focus on keeping the duration longer @ 60 minutes and slowly creeping up the tension.

Today: 50% max tension @ 60.5 minutes.

One thing that I am noticing with the longer sessions is that the fatigue seems to creep in at the 52-53 minute mark so maybe that is an indicator of what is necessary in terms of session length. It does raise the question as to whether there is an established length of time of “riding the fatigue” that is optimal. At 60.5 minutes some glans numbness so I discontinued the session. My inclination is to keep it in that 55-60 minute range as long as we’re making progress.

4/12/2018 Update

60% max tension - 60 minutes. So far so good.

70% max tension @ 60 minutes

Was able to get 60 minutes at 70% of max tension for the first time so that is good. However the pressure on the glans was substantial so I’ll need to keep it here for a while for the tissues to accommodate. Going off the log history, maybe 10 days, we’ll see.

4/15/2018 Update

Missed yesterday and got a late start today with little sleep so wasn’t sure how things would go. The tissues seemed surprisingly compliant and so even though the plan was to bake at 70% tension for a while I took a chance and took it to 80% and it worked out.

I got to 49 minutes before I was interrupted. I’m quite sure I could have gotten to 60 minutes otherwise. Really liking the longer session protocol.

80% max tension @ 49 minutes.

4/15/2018 Update

100% max tension @ 60 minutes

Today I was able to get to max tension at the new extender length for the first time and while this is good news for sure, there was a lot of tension in the system. One of the things that I have noticed is the importance of good sleep in terms of how well a session goes.

When I get good sleep the tissues are better recovered and can handle more tension. And that’s what happened here, Work has been heavy, I have been sleep deprived but today I was off and was able to sleep in.

For sure it was a great session and I’ll take it but it has to be taken for what it is. This was not a gradual stretching of the tissues to get there. This was that the tissues were more robust and could handle more tension. We still have a long way to go to consolidate this length.

One of the things that I’ve noticed when reviewing the log is that after there is a jump in tension, often times the next day there is a bit of retreat. I mention this because I read something that Bib had wrote about that occurs in the hanging process that is similar. He was of the opinion that it was a sign of progress. I don’t pretend to understand the underlying factors, but I do think it is useful to know that this may be a normal part of the process.

There is a turtling pattern I’ve noted. I had it today after changing my pressure pattern back upwards yesterday. I also agree. I wish I could put into words why but…its nice to see you also have noticed it as well.
