This is why I stress finding a PE method you like and enjoy. The raw hours you’ll put in with your method of choice will already tax your patience and endurance by the nature of the beast.

This is why my first, second and third forays with clamp hangars were doomed to failure. I couldn’t mentally handle it.

Upped the tension a little for the second session as I was not of the disposition to go long. There is a mental aspect to this game and right now I just don’t have it. I’m not going to fight it, I’ll just take what I can.

Missed the morning session. Better disposition today. I did increase the rate of tension increase but stopped at 77% tension to ensure I got the duration in.

100%+ max tension @ 60 minutes

Used an accelerated the rate of tension increase so that 100% max tension was achieved at 12.5 minutes. This is as aggressive as I get. Very surprised to get there just 10 days into the increased extender length. Not sure it’s sustainable, we’ll see. The only anecdotal connection I can offer is that since I’ve focused on the longer duration sessions, I seem to be having a better go of it.

Failed experiment

100%++ max tension @ 30 minutes

34% max tension @ 60 minutes

So given that we were able to push the ramp up of tension yesterday and pull it off, I thought to try and push it even further. For the first session I got to max tension in 10 minutes but was only able to sustain that for 30 minutes. Grabbed a coffee and came right back to it at 34% and got the 60 minutes to salvage the the session.

I have it in my mind that this would be interesting to give it another go in 10-14 days and see if there is better accommodation.

First half of November looks to be challenging so I’m glad that we seem to have made some good progress with the new extender length before facing those headwinds.

Some details about my extender process just to be clear. As others have stated, you reach through the noose/strap and pull the glans through while simultaneously compressing the extender and with the free hand tighten the noose/strap. At that point while still compressed I run the velcro through the Hybrid slots to secure the free ends of the noose so that they are secure and do not slip during the session.

At that point the extender is sticking straight out. I follow a stress relaxation protocol. There is a lot of clinical work that has been done centered around rehab and much has been published about it, but basically if given time tissues held at a particular stretched length will relax.

At 2.5 minutes I push the extender down. And then every 2.5 minutes I back out the screws a set amount till I get to the max tension that I can use for the session. I judge that by how much the glans can take in terms of session duration, but basically I have found that ~ 60 minutes is optimal. There is some recent anecdotal information that the Restorex research suggests the same but that won’t be published till early next year. In the preliminary data they did find results from 30 minute sessions, much greater results from 60 minute sessions and then nothing additional from the 90 minute sessions compared to the 60. Keep in mind that this is a high tension extender protocol.

So at a new extender length I might start by backing out the screws 7-10 half turns, with max tension being about 70-72 half turns as close to 80 the screws are out of the housing and are no longer secure. Once I can consistently get 60 minutes, AND the glans is in the forward position in the cradle, indicating the tissues have accommodated, I then increase the rate of tension increase so that I back out the screws 12 half turns every 2.5 minutes so that I get to max tension earlier.

I basically continue this process of teasing stretched length until I get to max tension in ~10 minutes am able to hold that for 60 minutes and the glans is in the forward position. At that point the tissues have accommodated so that additional length can be used.

After the newbie gains this is a very slow process. I’m adding 1/8” and the last addition took just under 3 months before additional length was needed.

I’m not saying that this protocol is optimal but it’s just what I’ve figured out through trial and error and maybe it is useful to someone.

Max tension at 12.5 minutes.

It was a good session but I was interrupted - for no good reason LOL.

This length addition is going real well, it’s just a matter of the tissues releasing to the forward position in the cradle, which is already showing incremental movement. I have no good explanation for why this round is seemingly going better except for the shift to a greater focus on session duration, but that view is purely anecdotal.

Developing thoughts on the long run once the short term goal is consolidated.

++ Got to max tension @ 10 minutes.

Given how well yesterday’s sessions went I decided to revisit the failed experiment tension increase progression from a few days back and this time we got to 49 minutes compared to the 30 minutes last time and we ended the session further forward in the cradle.

So the accommodation this cycle is occurring faster for sure and it might be that I have the protocol down better now or it might be normal variance.
That tissues that had accommodated some time ago are now remodeled and can participate in the accommodation anew. But the fact is, that we don’t know.

Because the underlying mechanism of action is not known. So given that, we can only speculate as to whether there is a hard limit to gains or if the diminishing returns that everyone seems to realize are a consequence of the rate of gains exceeding the rate of tissue remodeling so that there is no additional tissue available for accommodation.

This is an intriguing aspect for me and is impacting my long term thinking. I have suspicions but I am refraining from conclusions as I am keeping myself open to what the results actually suggest.

The journey is seemingly evolving.
