Hi,

I’ve just begun PE, doing mainly Bib hanging and dry jelqing, throwing in some Uli’s from time to time and will incorporate Horses and Erect Bends once I’ve got more experience.

I read avocet8’s excellent 101 thread but I’ve still got some questions:
Q1 What’s benefit of pumping over other PE techniques? Why should I incorporate it in my routine? Can it accelerate gains?
Q2 Are most gains really only temporary? Why aren’t they permanent like for the other techniques? And to what extent can they be made permanent?
Q3 Is pumping more a benefit to length or girth gains?

I’m just starting and my size is 5.9 x 4.6 (EBPL x EG). I feel most inadequate about girth at the moment, so if pumping can make me gain some quickly that would be a good idea. Over time, I want to build up length as well, of course.

7x5.5 would be an excellent size for me. Do you think I can achieve it?

It appears from reports posted here that pumping combined with manual exercises does accelerate gains. Hanging combined with manual exercises also works. But to get gains from either you have to stick to your program and be prepared to look at size gains as a long-term commitment.
There is no question that regular pumping helps restore and maintain a healthy penile vascular system in men who have had their own compromized for various health reasons, including normal aging.

Frankly, I do not believe that gains by any PE method are permanent for all men.
Some guys luck out and keep their gains, even after dropping PE exercises completely after they reach their goals. Others need to establish some minimal “maintenance” program to stay where they got to. I am one of the latter group.
I do believe strongly that an active sex life, be it by yourself or with a partner, helps hold gains. A healthy nocturnal erection pattern helps, too.

Q3 Is pumping more a benefit to length or girth gains?

It is usually a benefit to both. Proportionally, though, in inches, guys usually see more length gain than girth which is often slower to come for all of us, no matter what method of PE we use. There are lots of exceptions to what I just said. Some tend to be easier length gainers, others easier girth gainers. It’s about tissue composition and body chemistry.

I found that pumping was the only solution for me for actual noticeable gains.

Over the past number of years I have been pumping followed by jelqing and my length is now 9 inches and my girth is 8 inches. These measurements were achieved after 15 years so don’t give up because it takes time.

I love pumping, but for me pumping alone doesn’t do much. So I’ve been doing it with other techniques and am starting to show some growth.


Start: (Aug 2001): 6 1/2 bpel x 4 7/8 mseg

Current: (6/24/14): 7 3/4 bpel (7 nbp) x 5 5/8 mseg. BEG 6 1/4. BPFSL 8 1/8.

Goals: First: 7 1/2 bpel x 5 1/2 mseg ACHIEVED! Current Goal: 7 nbp x 5 3/4 mseg (almost there!)

Pumping is the primary technique that allowed me to gain 1/2 inch in “perminant” girth over two plus years of pumping. I progressed from a 1.5 inch cylinder, that took me six months before I could pack it from base to just under the glans, to my current 2 inch cylinder which I can now pack half way up.

My current “perminant” MS girth is 5”(up from 4.5”); however, I can temporarily pump up my girth to 5.5 inches with the help of a constriction band if I want to provide my wife with additional pleasure. Not aware of any other routine that can increase girth, albeit temporary, by 1/2 inch in under twenty minutes.


Start 11/09 BPEL: 5.5", EG: 4.4"

Current. BPEL: 6:4", EG: 5.5"

Pumping has helped me get some of my girth back I lost due to age etc.

Why does it have to be permanent? Just keep occasionally pumping

I find that if I pump to much it hinders my length gains but that may be because I gain girth alot quicker so tissue is being made stronger.


Progressive overload principles,

Goal - 8'' BPEL 6.5'' EG

Girth is the quickest result. Length takes working it out and wearing a semi loose cock ring to hold in the gains until your cock can get used to being fuller
