WATER PUMPING > Air Pumping

Really can't decide what Pump

I’ve been reading a ton the last week or so about about pumps on here looking for info to help me make a decision and I’m torn on what to do it seems its pretty much a split on what people think is better?

I’ve weighed all the options and the air pumps although not as convenient as a bath mate intrigue me I’ve been jelqing for about 4-5 weeks now and want to add a form of pumping to my routine to try and get the best results I don’t care about the convenience or mess of one compared to the other I just want to make a good decision!
I’m very average in length bpl 6” and I guess a bit above in girth EG 5.7” I would like to get mostly more length 1.5” but a bit more girth maybe .5” help

Buy a good quality cylinder, a hand pump with a gauge and a water trap, that way you can air or water pump.
You probably want a 2 by 9” cylinder.

Can I ask if you have tried either or both and if you had more success with one over the other?

Have done both extensively, they both have their pros and cons
I haven’t gained from either but I’m a hard gainer.

Hi capernicus, could you tell their pros and cons of each method??

Regards

Creciendo día a día... en todos los sentidos :D

I’ve used a bathmate for over a year and recently switched to a vacutech air pump.

For me, even though i was pumping to higher pressures in the bathmate, the air pump creates more of a pull even just at the 4/5hg. I gained next to no length in the bathmate although i did through stretching and jelqing. Id get a bug fluid buildup and i believe too much of it results in no real gains just a much bigger post pump girth. I don’t get as much post pump buildup in the vacutech but i have had in just 3 weeks is length gains (.2 length and .08meg)

So to summarize, don’t chase the temp girth gains as for me it resulted in no real gains. Low pressure foe longer period is key for me.

Just my opinion.

Air pumping.
Easy to do anywhere.
Allows you to use electric pumps more easily.

Cons
Worse discolouration at least in my case.
More lube used up.
Seems to expand the base much more than the upper shaft.
More chance of blisters.

Water pumping.
Nice constant moist heat.
Better expansion.
Feels better.
Better EQ.

Cons
Messing with water.
More edema.

No gains from either though.

I have air pumped for over 6 years; however, I did some water pumping for about a year in 2012 using an inexpensive bulb pump. I gave it up because I found water pumping too confining and inconvenient. I do a lot of pumping in bed at night.

I found that my water pumped erections to be a bit more “spongy” than my air based erections. On the other hand, I found that warm water pumping generated quicker engorgement than air pumping.

Start 11/09 BPEL: 5.5", EG: 4.4"

Current. BPEL: 6:4", EG: 5.5"

I’ve just ordered a Thickwall cylinders water trap to try hydropumping with my vacuum pump, I haven’t found any explanation for the set up with the water trap, I suppose you have to add some extra tubing or cut the existing one to connect it but how does the pressure gauge compare with air pumping?

You can add some hose or just cut the one you have.
Put the trap 3-4” from the pump and they usually say on the lid which way round to use them.
Also on the intake side inside the lid there’s a short pipe where you connect another piece of tubing, this should reach almost to the bottom of the trap when closed and helps keep air bubbles from getting back into your cylinder.
The gauge is measuring air in both situations so vacuum is the same with air or water although they do feel different.

Thanks capernicus1, I’m curious to see how it compares with the Bathmate.

My take. I have used both air and water pumps and currently use a Mr Fantastic water pump. I have not commented on your points where I do not have an opinion.

>Air pumping.

Agree

Cons

>More chance of blisters.

Think the opposite is the case. I got more blisters from water pumping until I used baby powder under a silicone glans protector or condom anchored by a silicone sleeve. Believe the blister formation is made easier by contact with water which explains why the drying action of the baby powder works.

>Water pumping.

Agree on this but also can last longer before soreness creeps in. 60 min sessions instead of 30 min.

>Cons

>More edema.

Agree but found silicone sleeve counters the edema effect

>No gains from either though.

Have got girth gains from both but more from water pumping - MSEG increase from 5” to 5.5” and currently trying to get to 5.75”. So far have not noticed any length gains from pumping though I pack the cylinder. However my unit is longer post pump and currently am upping my pumping time to 13 one hour sessions over 5 days each week to see if I can get gains. I did get length gains from extending previously though.

OK guys, you’ve got me worried now, under what conditions do blisters occur? I have experienced them on my glans when I used my vac-attachment with too much extender force.

From what I have learnt here, best results from pumping come from lower vacuum pressures, can that still cause blisters?

I wouldn’t worry about it.
At low pressures you’re unlikely to get blisters from air or water and the one or two I’ve had over the years were tiny.
Had far worse ones from vac hanging.

I’m using the Bathmate (love it or hate it, I got it on sale for very little money) with a condom on pretty low pressure and have very little fluid buildup and no blisters. The only effect I see is a tiny area on the glans where the veins are more visible. It’s always the same area and goes away a few minutes afterwards or when massaging.

Notice that I’m using not a lot of vacuum. But even when maxing out the bathmate with a condom on I get far less fluid and far less blue spotting than without.
