Vacuum Pumping 101

It’s sort of in your face. :) Stickied at the top of the Pumpers’ Forum.

Condom pumping

Sigh… Nobody looks at stickies anymore.

Hi petitfaun,

I tried doing this but it didn’t work, the cylinder would still get foggy. However, what I do now, when the cylinder gets foggy I just shake it and make my penis slap the upper wall of the cylinder a few times, this sort of wipes the cylinder. That way I can continue to see relatively clearly what’s happening inside.

Btw guys, how fast do your vacuum pumps pump, that is, how quickly do they increase pressure inside the cylinder? I have 2 pumps which work completely differently. I always get in the tube 70-80% erect. With the first pump, I only need to press the pump a couple of times to get myself fully erect. With the other one, I need to press 10 times in order to pump up my penis for the same amount that the first one does in only one pump. Is this normal? Do different pumps pump at such different rates?

I think both of my pumps are working properly. They are both brad new, I just recently bought them, and the vacuum levels inside the cylinders stay the same, so there is no leak in either of them.

Hey guys,

Have not been on in a while, but remembered a UCLA study I found. They were testing vacuum pumps to restore length in patients who had Peyronie disease. As most of you already know, the surgery to correct the curvature in the penis also shortens the penis when healed. The doc’s found an average length gain of 1/2” every six months of mild pumping, similar to what is recommended hear. Although I remember the sessions only being once a day.

This sounds interesting - could you link to the study or just give us a bit more detail from what you can recall?

We need more information on this plus the link please.

So I have been pumping for about 10 months now. Recently I have been doing 4*20 minute sets at 3hg a day for 2 months and have gained 0.5” in the tube but not gained much out of the tube besides some girth. Will dropping my pumping down to 1 or 2*20 minute sets benefit me maybe? I can not really do shorter sets as time allows about 40 minutes in the morning and at work. I just put on the pump and kegel. I cant be removing the pump every 10 minutes to jelq because I am handling paper work etc.. I can not be risking getting lube on papers and other stuff.

I know shorter sets are good but I come out semi erect even after the second 20 minute set per session. I just might drop pumping sets to 1 or 2 a day and alternate back to hanging. I stopped hanging for 6 months now because I was in a plateau no gains from hanging. I have this tough cord like thing in the middle of penis if I grasp the head and stretch it feels like a band that is in a sock the softer parts of my penis are not tight when stretching only this sting is. I have read the threads about Dorsal Thickening/Septum I think I have that problem it sucks. I have virtually no length gains in a very long time (9 months).

How about the actual pumping itself?

On another site I was advised that one should pump up, hold for 10 seconds, then release. Rinse and repeat that for 10 minutes.

Can you please explain what is meant by ‘rinse’, or what you think is meant?

You can keep pumping; hanging and pump are great combo

Rinse and repeat is just a saying that means ’ do it again and again’.

Repeat the pump and hold for 10 seconds action for 10 minutes.

Increasing Glans size.

Hey fellow pumpers, I have pumped for approximately 5 years, with great results. Now that I have gained thickness and length I would like to increase the size of my glans (or head). I was wondering if anyone has pumped with the two stage mushroom head tube by LA Pump? If anyone has information or has had success using this tube to increase glans size please share your experience with us. I have attached a pic of the cylinder below. Thanks

Interesting. Never heard of that. I just googled it, and couldn’t find it. I did however find this, which is about using a pump daily to maintain length/penile health after radical prostatectomy.

Abstract
Radical prostatectomy has been shown to have a potential negative impact on penile health. Stretched penile length (SPL), which most closely correlates with erect penile length, was significantly reduced in almost half of men undergoing surgery in several studies. The purpose of this study was to test whether early intervention after surgery with a vacuum erection device could prevent the changes in penile health, as defined by SPL, found in prior studies. Forty-two men with good preoperative sexual function undergoing nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy underwent measurement of SPL preoperative and at 3 months postoperative by a single investigator. Daily use of a vacuum erection device (VED) was begun the day after catheter removal, and continued for 90 days. Men kept a log of their compliance with daily VED use. A decrease in SPL of 1.0 cm was considered significant. Out of 42 men, 39 completed the study. In men who used the VED >50% of possible days, only 1/36 (3%) had a decrease in SPL of 1.0 cm. Of the three men with poor VED compliance, two (67%) had a reduction in SPL of 1.0 cm. When compared to prior studies where 48% of men after surgery had a significant reduction in SPL, early intervention with the daily use of a VED resulted in a significantly lower risk of loss of penile length (P<0.0001). For men wishing to preserve penile health/length after surgery, early intervention with the daily use of a VED should be strongly recommended.

Five years?. You should discuss your experience.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To assess the efficacy of vacuum therapy in mechanically straightening the penile curvature of Peyronie’s disease (Peyronies Disease).

PATIENTS AND METHODS Modelling of the tunica albuginea has been shown to be possible during penile implant surgery and this principle has been applied as an alternative conservative therapy. In all, 31 patients with Peyronies Disease (mean duration 9.9 months; mean age 51 years, range 24-71) completed the study. Over a 12-week period, the patients used a vacuum device (Osbon ErecAid(R), MediPlus, High Wycombe, UK) for 10 min twice daily. The assessment at study entry and at completion after 12 weeks included the International Index of Erectile Function questionnaire, a perceived pain intensity score, stretched penile length measurement and the angle of penile deformity after an intracavernous injection with prostaglandin E1.

RESULTS There was a clinically and statistically significant improvement in penile length, angle of curvature and pain after 12 weeks of using the vacuum pump. Of the 31 patients, 21 had a reduction in the angle of curvature by 5-25 degrees , three had worsening of the curvature and there was no change in the remaining seven. The curvature was corrected surgically in 15 patients while the remaining 16 (51%) were satisfied with the outcome. There was an increase in stretched penile length in 11 patients, with a mean (range) of 0.5 (0.5–1.5) cm (P=0.029), although there was no change in penile girth or improvement in the waist deformity in the nine patients who presented with a waist deformity.

CONCLUSION Vacuum therapy can improve or stabilize the curvature of Peyronies Disease, is safe to use in all stages of the disease, and might reduce the number of patients going on to surgery.
