Vacuum Pumping 101

Hi guys . I want to try pumping for a long time , so I´m getting more informed about it. I´m ordering from dash.uk.com .I´ve already measured my tool and checked the tube sizes , but i got some questions. Their pumps dont have the ” pressure display ” a lot of people talk about in this post. ( at least the cheap ones don´t ) . Is that really necessary? what about a cock ring? also necessary? Thank you in advance :)

Hello, Hello.

Sorry I missed your post earlier.

Pressure gauges are important, especially to new pumpers who do not yet know relative pressure values and how they feel while pumping. It is a fact that when damage happens from vacuum pumping it is usually because the pumper overdid his pressure.

I have pumped with a cock ring from time to time. It seems a harmless thing to do if you don’t keep the ring on too long while you have an erection. I am not convinced it speeds gains although you do look girthier in the tube while in vacuum.

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a few questions I’ve been meaning to ask - apologies in advance if any of this has been covered already - I’m sure a lot of it has. I’ve read a lot of the pumping posts and I think I’ve either skimmed over it accidentally, or it’s gone in one ear and out the other, or I’ve not fully realised the significance or importance of what was said, so..

Background:
- My starting measurements (I’ve been jelqing for a few weeks more than I’ve been pumping) were about 6” x 4.5”. I haven’t measured since, but the impression I’ve been getting (apart from an obviously healthier flacid hang) is that I’ve made a little gain in erect length, girth I’m not so sure.
- I’ve been pumping for a few weeks now - I bought a Kaplan kit - turns out it came with a 2.5” cylinder which could be why it was so cheap - seemed to be discounted. Since then the only other cylinders I’ve found in stores were a 2.25” (which I bought and have been using) and a 1.75”.

1. “Packing the tube” is skin against the surface of the cylinder right? And this is what I should be aiming for? How is this beneficial - or is it just so you can see that you are growing?
2. Someone wrote somewhere that you should select a tube that’s 0.5” more than your diameter, so my 4.5” girth is about 1.45” diameter so should I be using a 2” tube, or should I go pick up that 1.75” one I found (haven’t found a 2” anywhere)? That said, if I packed a 1.75”, do you think I could successfully move onto my 2.25” from that point if not now, and skip the 2” entirely?
3. Am I still gonna get just as much benefit from using my 2.25” cylinder?
4. I have (what I think is) a significant upward curve in my cock and I get the impression it’ll be kinda squashed straight in a thinner cylinder - is this ok?

Thanx in advance guys.
Frank.

Well, being the impatient sort that I am, I was hoping for a reply to my questions some time today - got me a bee in my bonnet but never mind.. That’s just how I am..

I think I’m gonna go get that 1.75” tube (only - it’s like AU$160 and the 2.25” Colt cylinder I bought was only like AU$38) this afternoon - especially seeing as how on the sizing page at that cock pump site (on the first page of this thread) recommends that size cylinder for anyone with 5.5” or girth and under.

I really couldn’t be arsed with mail/internet order at this stage (if I were to try for a 2” tube) - would have to have it delivered to a friends place or something anyway. I guess my main concern has been the curve in my cock, and outgrowing it quickly when it costs as much as it does.

Oh well.. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.

At 4.5” you will find the 1.75” cylinder will do you well for quite a while. One thing at a time!

Don’t be impatient with PE, it’s a detriment. Follow Avocet8’s guidelines up there at the beginning and you can’t go wrong. It’s good stuff. :)

Oh - I’m not impatient with the process - I’m impatient about not “proceeding” - as long as I know I’m getting somewhere I’m happy for it to take as long as it takes - the bit where I get impatient comes with sitting with my thumb up my ass wasting days I could be gaining..

So I went and got that 1.75” Cylinder. It’s a Falcon - it begins to taper so the valve end is slightly narrower than the open end. I didn’t think it’d matter TOO much, but I’m not such a fan now after trying it last night. See, I pretty much packed it - and especially my glans which was kinda squashed (it mushrooms and I like it like that). I’m wondering now (because it’s not that noticable I thought) if I’ve gained more than I realised in the past 6 or 7 weeks I’ve been jelqing.

It did however seem to do more for my length than the other cylinders I’ve used AND I did manage to pump at 8Hg for 10 min with NO discomfort (my second set I did at 10Hg even - only slight discomfort, but no pain which was really good - no discolouration or deformity in shape or anything at all). Oh and it was much more comfortable too - most of the discomfort or pain I’ve experienced in other cylinders was around the base with extra bits being sucked in.

Anyway, now I’m gonna start trying to get hold of a 2” tube with straight sides - in the meantime I’ll keep using this 1.75” but I don’t think I’ll be wanting to use it for more than a couple of weeks, which will probably be enough time for one of the adult stores near me to order me a 2” in.

Cheers,
Frank.

Frank,

It seems that either you’re more than 4.5” EG, or the tapering of the tube is causing your penis to pack more. It’s important that you get the proper tube diameter. A 1.75” diameter means your dick has the space to expand upto 5.5” EG. A 2” tube brings that figure to 6.3”. Are you sure the tube you’re using is 1.75 and no less? What’s the actual effect of the tapering in terms of diameter? Are you sure you measure 4.5” EG and no more? I use a 2” tube with an EG of 5.5-5.75” and am packing almost all but maybe 1/2 below the glans. Be extremely careful when choosing a tube.

This is never stressed enough: DO NOT mess with vacuum pressure. Stay at 5” hg or below. Otherwise you’re asking for trouble.

I am sure the tube is 1.75” - but as I said, it tapers towards the end to less than that.

Well, I think I’ve actually made it (or almost made it) to 7” x 5” erect, so I’m not packing the entire length but I am at the base and my glans is getting squashed, so I’m not even sure the pressure is even (don’t know if the remaining air around the shaft is getting past the glans and creating even pressure).

Anyway, I thought maybe I better not use it anymore (I have actually ordered a 2” tube with straight sides at a local adult store week before last, but haven’t heard back yet) so I tried my 2.25” tube again last night. It’s still too big, but at least I know the pressure is even.

In the 2.25” tube I can’t comfortably pump past 6”Hg anyway, so I guess I won’t be - too much pelvic flesh gets sucked in and it’s just very uncomfortable.

Thanks for the concern - truth be told the only discomfort at higher presure in a larger tube is around the base of the tube. My shaft and glans actually really feel good even at 8”Hg. So now I’m absolutely fanging for that 2” tube to come in!

Those tapered tubes do often squash the glans. Does anybody know why tapered at the top is desireable? I don’t get it. If the idea is to pull out length, most of us want our glans to get fattened, too, but that can’t happen with this design.

Taking a look at that “Tiger” site, it seems some guys like to alter the shape of their units for their own amusement, maybe it’s something along those lines.

I’d rather not look there again and our newbies shouldn’t either. Some pretty scary results posted there, Sixer. :)

That wasn’t a bad at all, imo, sixer. Just don’t post a link to there. T and I talked about it and decided that there was too much negative stuff there, taking guys away from safe pumping and more into the extremist side of it which some pics there certainly reveal. I think Thunder once called some of them Bread Machine Dough Dicks.
