Vacuum Pumping when you have ED; the short version, according to Avocet8

My EQ got still better and I also gained MSEG of at least 1/2” from 5” TO 5.5” and can up to 5.75” on a good day. There are many ways of dynamic pumping and I started out as Homer JS by manually cycling the max vacuum.

Austfred,

Thanks for you response. I have considered getting the Mr. Fantastic unit. My electric pump works good it’s just sort of clunky and noisy, plus I’m not completely sure the cylinder is the perfect size. I will continue pumps with (4) 5 minute cycles in hopes of overcoming the current ED situation.

I don’t know what dynamic water pumping is but will look into, thanks for the direction!

Dynamic water pumping is simply pumping dynamicly using a water pump. I would keep up what you are doing and perhaps reduce the cycle time say to 2 mins. If you are looking for length gains cylinder size is critical in that you should pack the cylinder but if you are looking for girth gains or simply wanting to improve EQ I am not sure it matters that much. Read gprent’s thread on the subject

Very kind of you Austfred..

Is the 2 minuted cycle time more in line with how Mr. Fantastic operates? I assume the period between the two minute cycle is as long as it takes to return to flaccid but I will check out gprent’s thread. I am primarily looking for EQ

Thanks again!

When I pump (air) dynamically, I reduce the the vacuum from 5 hg to 2 hg. Accordingly, my dick reverts to a slight semi not to full flaccid.

Start 11/09 BPEL: 5.5", EG: 4.4"

Current. BPEL: 6:4", EG: 5.5"

DT,

So you are always in the tube and simply reduce pressure to 2HG and then ramp back up to 5HG and then cycle back down again?

How many cycle times do you do this?

Thanks zy

Thats what I do too with my Mr Fantastic water pump. I currently cycle every minute or so. I cycle from 3”Hg to 12” Hg but took a few months before I built up to the higher max. I would start lower and see how you go. However by cycling I do believe you can safely reach higher max vacuums than with steady state pumping.

Austfred,

For trying to improve ED how may times to you cycle up and down on average? What is the idea of getting to higher vacuum pressures? Does that improve EQ/ED?

Right now I do as Avocet suggested (4) five minute cycles starting at one/HG and finishing at around four/HG and removing from the cylinder after each five minute cycle

Thanks!

I usually remain in the cylinder for 20 minutes and get in four or five cycles. About twice a week I exit the tube after ten minutes and perform three ulis before pumping up to 5 hg again and repeat two more times.

Gonna give that routine a whirl tonight!

I pump for about 1 hour sessions with an average cycle time of 1 min so I am cycling up and down about 60 times a session. That is with the electric water pump. With an air pump I felt I had to stop after about 30 mins. I do it by feel.

I do both for EQ and for PE. I have gained about 1/2” at least in MSEG and now am hoping to get length gains from pumping as I now pack the cylinder. I am not sure that dynamic pumping (or stretching as HomerJS called it) ) was around when originally suggested his routine. I understand pumping is well known as an aid to EQ and Avocet’s routine is great. I just think that dynamic pumping worked even better for me. Just be careful with session times and max Hg so you do not get an injury. I find practice and feel is the best way to find out what your penis can handle.

I posted the following comments in another thread but include it here as it pertains to pumping for ED.

I suspect that pumping for EQ is sometimes at odds with PE for gains. In other words, what might be good for Erection Quality (Erectile Dysfunction) might not necessarily produce gains (Penile Enlargement). As an old guy, my first priority is improving EQ, my second priority is recovering lost length and girth, and finally, my third priority is increasing length and girth if possible.

The medical community is now starting to do more research on “Penile Rehabilitation”, specifically for men following prostate surgery which results in poor EQ and some form of ED. Pumping without the use of constriction bands in combination with medication like Viagra is a leading recommendation. The general idea is that frequent pump induced erections oxygenates, nutrifies and stretches penile tissue much like nocturnal erections in a young healthy male. While there are a few published research studies on penile rehab, I have not found any that specifically address the amount of vacuum (inches Hg or mm Hg) nor the cycle time (pump time + hold time + release time). A contributing factor for this oversight is that medical penile rehab protocols recommend using a VED (vacuum erection device) which lack a gauge.

My current hypothesis (as of August 2016) for optimal pumping for EQ is:
Frequency - 1, 2, or 3 times per day;
Intensity - a vacuum that does not cause injury - for me that is now a maximum of 4” Hg but can change over time;
Cycles - short cycles of about 18 seconds (6 seconds increasing vacuum, 12 seconds decreasing vacuum);
Duration - 30-60 minutes per session;
Heat - a heating pad around the cylinder aids circulation and expansion;
Skin conditioning - use of cocoa and shea butter based moisturizers to improve skin elasticity.

I have a lot more to say but this post is getting long so I will end it here. Feel free to ask any questions and I will respond.

Best Wishes!

Mike.

Great post Especially found the medical reference interesting.

Mike1958,

Wanted to check in with the routine you wrote about and see if you have made any EQ progress. I missed the original posting but found your approach viable and interesting, being an oold guy my self - LOL

I find that cycling allows me to use higher pressure over time (40 minutes).

I typically go 10 minutes on and then release the pressure for 30 seconds or so and begin again.

Eventually I can stretch out to just under 8 ” in a 2” tube at 12 - 15 hg.

I have 1 7/8” tube and I can stretch out to 8 1/4” but I get too much fluid so I haven’t used it in a couple of months.

Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

This thread is one of my favorites and although it is focused on erectile dysfunction (ED) my comments are more about penile health and rehabilitation especially “the aging penis.”
There are lots of things that contribute to ED - for example: cardio vascular disease, diabetes, obesity, alcohol/drug consumption, depression, stress, etc. So my comments below are not intended to be a cure - I’m afraid ED is more complicated than that.

I believe there is benefit to both short and long cycles.

Short cycles are 30 seconds or less. Typical example is 6 seconds up to maximum vacuum of 5” Hg and 12 seconds down to a minimum of 2” Hg for a total cycle time of 18 seconds. Continue the cycles for 30-60 minutes. If any edema (lymph fluid) does not resolve within 12 hours then decrease total time and/or vacuum. Short cycles allow higher vacuum levels with less edema, therefore more expansion as well as mildly stressing the circulatory system.

Long cycles are 3-5 minutes. Typical example is pump up to 5” Hg, don’t pump any more unless vacuum falls below 2” Hg, continue for 5 minutes, exit the cylinder and perform a few jelqs/massage and repeat the process for 30-60 minutes. An option is to start with small cylinder (1.75”) then after a few cycles move to larger cylinder (2.0”). If any edema (lymph fluid) does not resolve within 12 hours then decrease total time and/or vacuum. Long cycles with intermittent manual manipulation (jelq)jelqing allow fresh blood to enter and lymph fluid to leave.

A good sign of improving erection quality (EQ) is the presence of nocturnal erections.
