I much prefer water for various reasons, less edema, less red spots and discolouration, direct heat.
It’s something you’ll need to try for yourself and decide.

I will. Although if air pumping works great I may not give it a try just yet.

Second session today, level of pressure is perfectly steady. I decreased the pressure slowly with the help of the pump, ended up with no red spots. Roughly 15 mn of pumping, 8 at 2-3-4 Hg (increased slowly), then 3 at 5 and 2 at 6 Hg, before decreasing the pressure over the course of 2-3 mn. It feels really nice though, so nice I want to do it again and again!

I think I’ll try a combination of my manual girth work out (which I love), and then pumping as a way to edge and maximize the gains. On other days I may just pump. My first goal is to reach 30 minutes of pumping.

So it seems as I pack it around the base, there’s a good deal of pressure at the start of the dorsal vein. I guess most of you experience the same? Is it still safe to go for 30 min +?

Build up to 30 mins slowly. Make sure you use some lube so the flesh isn’t ‘sticking’ to the tube and pulling.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I use lube and the IR lamp , so it should be all good. I did a 20 mn session without red spots or edema. Mostly around 3-4 Hg, a peak at 5-6. I’ll slowly add to that.

It seems I can ‘t exceed my BPEL so far, we’ll see if it changes in the long run. I wonder if one can gain length without exceeding his BPEL in the tube, I know some exceed it, some reach it and some don’t.

Recently I have been slightly exceeding my BPEL and also packing the lower half of my 2.25” tube. I have used many other forms of PE over the years (mostly inconsistently), but I credit pumping for giving me my current 6” girth. I don’t know what my pre PE girth was, but the gain has been substantial. My routine has varied considerably over the years, but in the early years I did basically what you are currently doing.

IR lamp is a great complement for pumping, IMO.

IR lamp is great for any kind of PE!

Irish , did you gain any length while you weren’t exceeding your BPEL? Did you pump everyday?

I’m currently 5.7 at midshaft, but near the base I’m 5.3, so I’m pretty sure pumping will even out my girth without any problems. I’m curious about length though.

I started PE a long time ago and have used many methods, but I’m certain that pumping has been the main source of my gains. Like most on here I never took before measurements, but I know I have gained substantial length and girth. The length gain is definitely over 1” and my feeling is that most of that came from pumping and that would most likely have been from pumping at below BPEL. I have only recently returned to pumping after another unsuccessful spell at extending, and it is only on this latest venture that I have been seeing length in the tube going above BPEL. Privacy has always been a problem for me, so it has never been possible to pump on a planned and regular basis. On average I probably managed 3 to 4 days a week with between 20 and 30 minutes per session.

What do you guys think of using avocet’s principles on pumping for ED to boost recovery on off days? So for instance three 5 mn sets at low vacuum?

I saw he also recommends three 10 mn pumping set, what’s your favourite between that and one 30 min set? I saw gprent first advised three sets, I think now he changed his mind though.

Apart from Irish, what are your thoughts on expansion within the tube? Is it possible to gain if size is not beyond a normal erection?

I don’t think we can ever know beyond speculation, Walter. We are not dealing with evidence based studies involving double blind and control methods here. In addition, PEers tend to use multiple approaches in any given order.

Exactly. After years of PE and focussing on what you feel all the time, and knowing how your own penis responds to what you do, you learn exactly what it needs at the time. That is so often influenced by what you did in your last session and how recovered you are, whether you have missed sessions, whether you have discolouration from a previous session, and many other variables etc. They all change whether you feel like a long low vacuum session or short higher vacuums or various combinations etc. are what you need. I use them all - I never know what I’m going to do when I get the pump out.

When your penis is absolutely ‘maxed out’ in the tube, the tissues are basically ‘locked up’ as they are designed to be to give rigidity to your erection. They need to spend some time in that state while doing PE in order to stress them, but not too much time as there is little elasticity to work with in that state so the tissues are not getting used to stretching.

If I was going to recommend one routine and 'working state' as a starting point for someone who wanted to simplify their pumping:

1) Warm up
2a) Slowly, over a few minutes, increase the vacuum until you reach max expansion, i.e. a vacuum increase is barely causing any further enlargement or lengthening in the tube
2b) then release just enough vac so that you shrink a few millimetres in the tube and keep the vac at that level for 5 minutes.
3) Slowly release the vac. Take the tube off.
4) Do 50 jelqs at whatever strength feels right to you. Follow them with some firegoat rolls until any discolouration has pretty much gone.
5) Get erect. Get back in the tube. Repeat 1, 2 and 2b but stay in the tube for between 15 minutes and an hour depending on how advanced you are/what your routine calls for/feel etc.
