pump pointer not going up

Hi,

My pump stays at 0 inHg even though my penis is totally packed. If i pump more then the pointer will go up.
But that’s a lot of pressure. I got the exact same pump from harbor freight tools.

Does anyone else has this ‘problem’?

What happens when you pull the hose off, stick your finger over the end of the pump nipple, and pump?

My guess is that you have a bad gauge. If it’s a recent purchase, take it back. If it isn’t, well… you could always use it for water pumping, since you no longer have to worry about ruining the gauge. :)

But if you can’t return it and you have the funds, you may want to buy another one so you know just what sort of force you are actually applying.

If i hold my finger to the nipple It goes up. But I just noticed it went up when i was pumping with the tube.

But it went back to 0 and somehow it keeps the pressure just not that much as it was when i pumped it up.

It could be that the connection between the tube, and male adapter, and the female adapter is malfunctioning somehow, such that you are breaking the vacuum outside the cylinder, but the cylinder and female adapter are holding the vacuum.

The needle might be bent e.g. from dropping the pump, and touching the dial therefore making uneven jumps. Try to disassemble the display and check that the needle does not touch the surface of the dial.

It’s funny, I just started having the identical problem with the Harbor Freight pump. This coincided with me accidentally dropping the whole pump and cylinder on the ground (maybe a 1.5 ft drop). Now the gauge doesn’t show anything above 0 Hg pressure when I’m using the cylinder even though there is clearly pressure and a vacuum is forming. But when I put my finder over the hole in the male adapter at the end of the hose and I pump, the needle does go up. This indicates to me the same thing that Lampwick said.

You’ll notice that if you pump and create a vacuum in the Boston Pump and apparently most other cylinders with that standard adapter, you can remove the male adapter but the vacuum in the cylinder will remain. So the issue is with the connection between the male and female adapters. A vacuum is created in the tube by pumping, but this vacuum is not contiguous with a vacuum in the hose/pump/gauge. I don’t want to replace the adapters since I literally just got them. I’m working on a solution and will post back if I come up with anything.

Make sure the female adapter is screwed in tight. Make sure there is a little black O ring on the Male adapter.

I might have tighten the connector on the tube a bit too much. Because the rope works just fine.
It could be that because of it’s tighten too much, the rubber ring might have a leakage, no?

I couldn’t deliberately solve the problem. Then the plastic casing for the gauge fell off, and when I reattached it, the pointer is somewhat responsive. However I need to give it a good amount of pressure before the pin goes up. So it’s basically giving a pressure reading that is too low. However, this is at least a good way to keep it consistent. I just don’t pump it to where the pointer says it’s really high.

So my solution? Remove the plastic gauge casing and put it back on. Maybe it’ll work for you too.
