I found that size #36 Danco its too thick it looks about right but it won’t snap to cylinder with that O ring due to thickness.

Either wet the O-ring with your mouth or put a tiny bit of cooking oil on it to lube it. Then give it a try. That #36 describes it as 5/16 X 3/16 X 1/16 so it should work.

It looks like it should work the new black one is a hard black plastic the old clear one is more like a rubber band maybe that’s why it isn’t working? Tried lube no luck.

Maybe that #36 is a slightly different size from the one that is needed. When I bought my O-rings the size on the package actually read 5/16 X 3/16 X 1/16.
Maybe you can find another store where the package actually spells out this size. In the Ace Hardware where I got mine, I can buy 1 ring at a time, not a 10 pack.
If push comes to shove, I can buy a couple and mail them to you.

There is one other remedy. You can buy a new male connector that comes with the O-ring installed:
McMaster-Carr Scroll down the page to find PN 5012K251 that sells for $1.86. Or enter that PN in the search window to find it easier. :)
