Packing a cylinder - HOW?

SteadyGains - thanks for those tips. I have fooled around a little with water pumping so I know that it helps with expansion. I can’t go up as high as 6 to 8HG though or my dick stops working!

Ah petitfaun — if I had put up the correct picture in the first place I could have avoided all the trauma! Attached is an image of an edison cylinder recording. Kind of like a straightwall cylinder, only shorter and opaque:

Good luck with the trial. It is a bit testchy on dong it right. Not too quick is fairly essential as the blood has to be “pumped” in with the fist - or whatever.

It certainly has given me good erect (when I can make it) and flaccid girth

AH then maybe I am still not doing it right…I think perhaps I was striking too fast. I did about 2 or 3 mallet taps a second. I will experiment with this further.

Ah No! It must be slower. And you could try a kegel just before you strike. . But go carefully on the kegel at first to try it out.

I guess the reason it has to be slower is that when striking the tube a ‘shock wave of blood gets sent up your penis, whch then returns. If you strike the tube before it has fully returned you will only a smaller amount gong up again. It’s rather like fast and slow jelqing

(Which is why jelqing gives you gains but masturbating doesn’t)

I had a chance to spend an hour in the cylinder yesterday in the 3 to 4HG range, but I did not pack it. Perhaps if I had kept a strong erection all through the session, I would have come closer. However, I did come out somewhat bigger than I do when I go 30-45 minutes, which was fun for a few minutes. I may try it again now and then, but I don’t see any need to spend that much time during my regular pumping workouts.

I even ended up with some black spots on my glans (gone today) and a donut (gone in three hours) - I didn’t like that, so that is another reason not to stay in so long. (on the other hand I had lots of night wood last night, so all in all the workout was probably not too much for me to handle)

I have pretty much let go of this as a “goal” - being as the real goal is gaining girth.

petitfaun - I did work on the tube striking in some other sessions. I did get some expansion with it, but it is similar to what I usually get. I think this is because I alternate kegels and tube milking when I am in the cylinder. I got that idea from one of gprent’s posts. I bet I am accomplishing the same thing with those as you do with the mallet strikes! I am glad I did this experiment with your technique, because it helps me know I am on the right track. Packing the tube takes time, especially when you are new. I started out at about 4.75 ” girth and it took an hour or more to pack a 1.75” dia. Cylinder. That resulted in mostly puffy fluid buildup. Not very useful.
After many years I can now pack the tube in just a few minutes.

One thing that will help is after a moderate session, take a short break and massage to an erection. Keep it hard and do some jelqs and squeezes to increase your girth. That will make you fatter when you go back into the tube.
Try that a few times and see if you don’t eventually pack it.

tinytim, I’m wondering how you got from when you started, when you took an hour or more to pack the cylinder, and now, when you can pack the tube in a few minutes. You shared about massaging to an erection, and the jelqs and squeezes. But would you say that you have experienced growth over the years that leads to you packing the cylinder more quickly, or is there something else that you associate with your success.

For me, one of those additional factors would be regularity. I know that over time, I pack more of the cylinder, and more quickly. The more I pump, and the more regularly, the more quickly and easily I pack the cylinder at the base, and the more quickly I pack more and more of the tube. So, for me, I’m thinking that some of this is growth, and some of it is just keeping my dick in the pattern of such expansion. I don’t really want to call that “conditioned” to expand, but it’s something like that. The more I pump (regularly, reasonably, moderately), the better and more predictable is the expansion. Is that a fair statement of your experience as well?
