Hey.

Relative newbie (BPEL 16.8, 18.5 FSL, MEG 11.3), have sporadically jelqed over the last few years (gaining about 1cm in BPEL length) but never saw any girth gains, which is really what I want to work on. So I recently got a pump and have started doing PE more regularly, have used it maybe a dozen times so far but one thing I find odd is that when pumping I don’t see any expansion in girth while I’m in the tube. I go in pretty much erect and see about a 1 inch or more expansion in length, but girth (dorsal view at least) doesn’t seem to expand much. Does anyone else find that? Is it just that the girth expansion is a small and gradual thing? I spend a couple of mins working up to 4-5hg, then stay at that for about 3 mins before releasing, firegoat roll then repeat.

I generally pump towards the end of my routine, which is :
- 5 min warm up
- 5-10 min stretching
- 50-80 jelqs, 80% erect
- pump (2 sets of 5-7 min at up to 5hg)
- firegoat rolls
- edging / kegels (3-5min)

There is usually a few mm of BPEL gains at the end of the routine compared to BPEL measurement taken at the start, and maybe 5-8mm FSL gains but never girth gains. Any advice for adjustments I could make for more girth, either through pumping or anything else I could add to the routine?

Try using constant heat. Get a heating pad and wrap the cylinder while you pump.

Maybe its time to plan increasing the duration inside the tube by blending those 2 sets. Run a 10 minutes and see what signs you will get.

What are the dimensions of your cylinder?

Did you measure glans, mid shaft and base of shaft?

When I pump my base girth increases more than mid shaft. I wonder if you may have uneven expansion like me.

So just did my first long-ish set, about 12 mins. Big gains in BPEL afterwards, I hit 17.5cm which I was thrilled with. Though again no visible signs of girth expansion in the tube and no gains at all in MSEG afterwards. I haven’t consistently measured BEG or glans before but I think there may be a slight gain in BEG.

My tube is 1.75”. I have a slight curve and am slightly thicker on the side view as opposed to the top, so my cock makes contact with the tube at the rear of my base and at the front of my glans. I’m nowhere near touching it at the sides. I’m kinda worried that my capacity for girth expansion sideways might be limited.. I’ll try the heating pads. Would it also help to go with a water pump? (I have an air pump, but I guess I can adapt this with one of those brake line drain thingys). Would my pressure gauge still be accurate if I did this?

I’m getting towards a length level that I’m happy with, and I don’t really want to go too much beyond 7”. I’d love another 1/2” in girth from somewhere, which is why I got the pump (as a novice I find some of the other girth focused exercises a little.. Intimidating). Should I stick with pumping for now, hoping it will give me some girth gains, or do you think I should look to other girth routines?

Look up O-Bends. They are done at very low erection (10%). They are great for girth!

Are you on any supplements? Make sure to heat before pumping, massage the tunica, and make sure to stretch well. Most I’ve seen recommend air pump over water.


Starting 10/09/17: BPEL 7” & MSEG 4.75”

Just keep slowly increasing the time in the tube and the girth will come. Eventually you want to go for 25 to 30 minutes continuous time in the tube.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I have the same problem. Girth takes forever and I, too, never see girth expansion in the tube, even at 7Hg or higher. After two years with a BM and nearly a year with a vacuum pump, I finally saw 0.25” of growth. It can be frustrating, trust me I know, but stay the the course and at some point you will see gains but it may take a year or two, unlike most of the guys here who only need to think about expansion and they have incredible girth gains. As stated before, constant heat is your best friend.

“Too much” heat is only when you burn yourself or it isn’t comfortable for you. This will vary from person to person. Heating pads usually have general settings like “Low, Medium and High” and how hot the tube gets is based on exposure to the heat as far as intensity or duration.

You have to find a combination that works for you that does not burn you or cause you discomfort. No one I have seen uses a thermometer to moderate an exact temperature of their cylinder so…it’s all by feel.

Just an update and request for more advice on where to go next..

I’ve been doing longer sessions, usually 2 x 20 min sessions (again, mostly around 4-5hg) with the jelqing moved to in between sets, and I’ve been using a heat pad on the tube also. Its been a bit stop start and I’m sure my lack of consistency has hampered gains, but I have noticed an increase in both glans and base girth (though these gains are quite dependent on EQ). Still no expansion mid shaft though, it seems my corpus cavernosa isn’t expanding at all (there’s been some small dorsal base girth expansion, but my BEG gains have mostly come from increased in the corpus spongiosum).

The only thing that gives any temporary expansion of the dorsal girth are o-bends, which I have been doing at 60-80% erection level. I know the recommendation is for much lower level but I can’t see/feel the lower erection level doing much for expansion, and haven’t yet noticed any pain or ill effects of the higher level (assuming I’m doing them properly in the first place).

Still wondering if it is normal not to see dorsal expansion during the pump.. Do I keep going and hope the gains will come? Any changes I should make to the pumping routine? Or should I try horse 440s or more aggressive girth techniques (which I’m a little nervous about)?

Try doing a continuous session of 30 minutes to see what happens and maybe inch it up to 6”hg for the last 10 to15 minutes.

I think you are very much on track right now.
I would follow gprent’s advice and if still nothing I would add 5 min of bundled stretching to your pre-vac routine.
I like the bundle stretches before going in the tube.

If… if all the above still doesn’t do it for you the only additional thing I could add is pump with warm/hot water in the tube. You would only need to fill the tube about 1/4 of the tube with water, just enough to cover your shaft and glans.
