New to PE - Please Help.

Hello. I have read up on this board, and have some questions before I buy anything. I would like to gain more girth than length, so I am thinking that pumping and jelqing would work well. And I have read that using water in the pump is better. Is that correct? And if I buy a water pump, would I use the same pressure as recommended in the pumping routine, starting with 3 mm-Hg? And can I use water in most of the pumps, like Dr. Kaplan’s? And finally, some people were recommending the “bathmate” on another site, but I see that it doesn’t have a pressure gauge. So should I get one that does? Any advice would be appreciated, and I don’t want to hurt myself. Thanks.

First, before buying anything, I’d suggest that you start with the Newbie Penis Enlargement Routine. It will give you a good foundation for additional PE activities such as pumping.

There is no absolute answer to whether water in the pump is ‘better’. It can have advantages. You need to be careful using water in most conventional pumps, as the water can cause problems for the gauge.

The Bathmate is a good pump - I have one - and yes, it does not have a gauge, so it should be used with appropriate caution to avoid too much force and ‘overdoing’. See Bathmate Users — how do you manage pressure? for more.

There are more cost-effective ‘first pumps’ than the Bathmate, though. Take a look at some of the threads about the PictureBrite line, and take a look at Vacuum Pumping 101 and Selecting Your Cylinder Size.

Thanks for the links. It looks like people are happy with the bathmate. But, in the bathmate thread, powerlifter said it created too much pressure and bruised his unit. OUCH. That is my only concern, and I’m wondering if I’d be better off with a gauge, when I pump with water. Or can someone tell me how to pump the thing without overdoing it? Like how many pumps, or something? I’m not too worried about prices, because it is my most valued body part. ;-) And I already hurt it once.. Thanks again.

It’s fairly simple to protect yourself.

Just keep the vacuum under-5 preferably 3 to start with and you should have no trouble . And of course read up on how to exercise with a pump. but stay away from the hard stuff until you are fully conditioned.

I would suggest waiting awhile before you decide to buy anything. At least wait until you can’t gain from manual PE anymore. Do the Newbie routine for a few months to condition you unit. After you have done that, try the manual girth exercises. Many members have gained from manual PE without buying anything.

Right! Jelquing is more than enough for most guys to make gains, start there with a good newbie routine.

PLUS, I have yet to get feedback from Bathmate users that they actually have made gains from it. Tons of guys are all excited at first, but I’ve yet to hear from guys that actually have seen gains from it.

That sounds like good advice. But are there other pumps that can be used with water that are convenient to use? I know that the bathmate doesn’t have a gauge, and that is my main concern.
