My Pump Arrived Today...

I gave the LAPDist pro w/ 9 x 1 3/4” cylinder a whirl this morning and i tried my usual jelqing lubricant of olive oil to maintain a seal…however, i found myself constantly having to top up the pressure…even though im completely shaved, used a lot of lube. I tried putting the cylinder on a lubed up flat plastic surface to see if it maintained pressure and it didnt still…is there something wrong with my kit?

Is the connector on the top of the cylinder screwed in snugly? Or perhaps, even too tightly? This connection always gave me a bit of trouble, so I finally fixed it by wrapping the threads of the connector with plumbers Teflon tape and then screwing it in.

I just started pumping for the first time yesterday after a three-month deconditioning break and I’m having the same problem— continual loss of pressure.

I’m using baby oil— would that create a good enough seal or might it be a similar problem to the above?

Maybe I need a different type of lubricant?

Also— I don’t have a rubber seal (i.e. it’s the perspex of the tube against my skin) do I need a rubber seal?

Wouldn’t just a normal water based lube work to have a good seal?

This is what I plan to use, is this the corrrect way of thinking?

Cool, ok…ill see how it goes with the olive oil and just wrap the top with plumbers tape… Should pressure remain constant then?

I’ve never pumped yet, but as far as I can tell first you pump up the pressure and then its supposed to drop a little and then you just pump up a little bit more to get it back to the pressure you want it at. Is this correct?

I move the cylinder around a lot when I pump, so I never achieve a perfect vacuum and have to watch the gauge and pump every now and then to hold the pressure constant. That’s another reason to have the gauge, so you know what is going on.

Once you figure everything out, it really doesn’t take much lube between the cylinder and your body. You should completely lube your cock shaft and about 1/2 inch around the base and also lube the flange of the cylinder and about the first 2 or 3 inches inside the cylinder.

Yes Marco, water based lubes work fine and that is the only lube I use. But to successfully use a water based lube, you must also have a bowl of warm water near by, to keep it slick. I put on the water based lube, then add a little water and then enter the cylinder. When you do multiple sets with jelqing or massage in between sets, all you have to do is dip into the water to keep things slick. You don’t have to add any more lube, well, maybe a tiny bit more sometimes. :)

Hey…i put some PTFE Thread sealing tape on the thread for the top of the cylinder and the seal has improved significantly! Cheers for all the help!

Gee, I wonder why the pump companies haven’t thought of this? It’s only been a common problem since the last century. :)
