Looking for the perfect heat mat.

I had some pumping newbie gains at first but they have slowed down to a halt. I have been reading about pumping under heat and many people have said it really helps. I’m looking for a flexible mat that I can wrap around the tube entirely, have heard that infrared heat works best. The heating mat needs to work in the UK too.

It just about wraps all the way around the tube. And heats up to 35°C. I’m not sure what the optimal temperature is?

I think this microwave heat pad would work better. I use one very similar called the thermipaq. The back wrap single pack looks like the perfect size.

Do you know of a similar flexible heating pad I could plug in ?

I don’t know if they have a Walmart over the rainbow, but they sell electric heat pads and you can find a size that will work for cylinders. I would however highly recommend a 6”X12” microwave Thermipaq also found in the pharmacy department.

The one In the link at the top of the page plugs in, and has variable temperature. I just ordered it but its from Hong Kong so will me waiting a month most likely…

Oh sweet, how long do you find they stay warm for? Long enough for a 30min pumping session?

I tried using heat years ago by filling a sock with rice and microwaving it… didn’t end too well and put me off using heat. Usually burned at first and went cold within a few minutes.

The Thermipaq pad that I use easily lasts for my 30 minute pump sessions and the longevity of the pad is also very good. Both of these pads are gel pads so I guess they have similar performance.

Be careful with the heat wrapping. I ruined a thin acrylic tube (gravel tube for aquarium cleaning) wrapping it in an electric heat pad. It got too hot and the tube imploded. It was a homemade tube that I have used off and on for years so I was pretty upset over it. If you are using a thick walled cylinder you should be fine.

Just a word of caution.

The electric heat pad just arrived from Hong Kong, it was supposed to heat to 35 degrees celsius but it doesn’t even get warm. I’m going to take your advise gprent and order a Thermipaq.
