I’ve been pumping for a few weeks now and incorporating manuals, in between sessions. I slowly built up to longer sessions and always go in hard. I’ve , at times, pumped to 10 in hg with no red spots, blisters, lymph build up or a donut.

A few days ago my wife wanted to see how big we could get it. I went in limp this time and pumped off and on for an hour without manuals. My dick never got any lymph build up even going to 12 in hg! I came out hard as usual and didn’t see or feel anything out of the ordinary. My dick seems to be very resistant to pumping. Maybe a two hour session?

Claw—maybe your gauge is not accurate or something. Try doing it without the gauge and just pump until you start to feel a little discomfort but not outright pain and then see how long you can hold it before the donut effect starts to show up. I actually wait for the donut to show up as a kind of indication that my unit has had enough time in the tube and that doesn’t happen until I am about one hour into the session at mild to moderate discomfort. I have never used one when I first started pumping like 16 years ago and I still don’t today.

Yes, I did drop the thing and the cover popped off the gauge. I know that it’s not entirely accurate anymore. So, I pumped off and on for 1 1/2 hours at moderate discomfort and ignored the gauge. My penis got very large (wife’s eyes got really big too :D ) but still no donut effect that I could see and one little red spot. Donut showed up later after an hour or so out of the tube. Took it out to pee and had the puffy fat ring under the head. So, I guess I need to look closer while in the tube.

I’ve been pumping for a couple weeks now with a 2” tube that I can pack about halfway at 8”.

I finally got a mitivac today and tried pumping the same as always….5hg is barely noticeable, seriously…so I ignored the gauge and maxed out like always and found myself around 15Hg and sometimes close to 20 during a cycle…and no donut. Got real nice and fat though. But seriously….if I don’t donut and it doesn’t hurt…is there any harm?

I doubt your gauge is correct. 15” is crazy. 20” is insane. I’ve hit about 9.5” for very brief periods while water pumping with a wrap below the head. I can’t take that for more than a few seconds. 7.5” in water gives a strong pull (feels about the same to me as 6” or 6.5” dry).

These numbers are using a good vacuum gauge, not one on a pump. I can’t imagine 15”, let alone 20”. If your gauge is working maybe it is using some other scale like centimeters of mercury.

I’ve been meaning to ask someone about this myself.

One thing I’ve found interesting is that if I go straight into the tube after just a few minutes of warming up, then 5” will give a donut in 30 minutes or less.

But if I follow my current routine of 30 minutes intense jelqing, 30 minutes of hanging and stretching (which feels intense to me, but is actually quite light compared to most guys here… 4# or 5#), and 30 minutes in the tube then I can keep the pressure at 8” or 9” the whole time with no trace of a donut at all.

Anyone know why or have a similar experience?

30 minutes of intense jelqing would give me at least the beginnings of a donut. I couldn’t hang afterward without severe and painful fluid buildup in the exposed skin under the glans. Goes to show how differently we respond. I’ve always built fluid easily.

All I can figure is maybe pumping at such high vacuum causes the pathways for lymph fluid (and blood) to squeeze or swell shut. Secjay reported something similar, getting poor expansion at high vacuum.

Well, one thing to keep in mind here is that the jelqing might just seem intense to me. I know for a fact that the weights I hang with are downright puny for some guys, but they seem quite heavy to me. So maybe what I think is “intense” really is not.

On the other hand, I do occassionally get the red spots on my glans. This seems like “intense enough”. I dunno. I’m gaining anyway.

I was actually wondering if the jelqing and stretching might have loosened the tissue up to the point that the pumping let it expand properly, as opposed to just drawing in lots of lymph.

Sometimes after I’ve pumped (after the jelqing and stretching) I still have clearly defined veins. Not many, to be sure, but some. This makes me think that there’s not much lymph related swelling going on. When I just start out pumping, without doing anything else first, the skin becomes fat and swollen and has a “foam packing” consistency. No veins at all.

Do you pack the tube more fully after jelqing? That could be helping to minimize the bloat.

Manual exercises make the tissues expanded and pliable. I usually jelq/squeeze/bend/whatever before my first pumping set for this reason, getting at least to the shiny head stage (vs. lumpy head when first beginning the session).

I don’t know how long pumping by itself takes to give the same internal expansion as pumping after manual exercises, or if it does at all. It makes sense to jelq or squeeze first to get a head start on expansion, then allow the vacuum to maintain and build on it. Same goes for hanging or stretching first if length is the goal.

Contrary to what is often recommended, I get less fluid and better internal expansion by doing longer sets. For example, 3-4 sets of:

5 min. jelq/squeeze/bend (fairly intense)
5 min. pump

will give me a tremendous amount of fluid, even worse if heat is applied during or after. I get much less by alternating jelqing/squeezing with 15 minute pumping sets. I use Theraband wrapped around the donut area while in the tube, and I think the increased time wrapped is why I get less fluid from longer sets.

Until recently, yes I was packing the tube after jelqing and stretching.

Got the new larger tube in the mail five days ago. Now it only begins to pack for about the first inch by the time my 30 minutes are up. That extra 3/4” circumference makes a huge difference.

Still, the results seem to be the same. Routine first, then pump = full, stiff erection with _some_ veininess still showing and no donut. Just pumping = penis just as big but soft and floppy with no veins and with an ugly donut that takes most of a day to go away.

On a different front, I had an idea the other day and I’d like to know what others think, or if someone else has maybe tried this:

When filling one of those long, skinny balloons I’ve noticed that after it inflates to a certain size adding more air or water tends to expand it’s girth without expanding it’s length at all. But if you then grab it around the middle and squeeze, the length increases just fine.

So I was wondering if it might work the same way with a penis. I had this idea while trying out my new larger tube. I noticed that it was getting larger near the base and about halfway up the shaft. Maybe after expanding the girth in the big tube I can pull out and put on the smaller tube. Then when I pump up it might be easier to increase the length since the tissue will be already expanded, but only have one direction to go since it’s being constricted by the smaller tube.

Just a thought. I’m a little reluctant to try it since I already spend almost two hours on a routine that seems to be working pretty well already.

Pumping to a slight discomfort and ignoring the gauge seems to be working better now. Yesterday, I was fucking cold all day so, I stood in front of the living room wall heater to warm up. I decided to do my pumping in that warm part of the house. That tube got downright hot but not uncomfortable. Started watching tv with the pump on and after 45 minutes of pumping I was finally packing the tube about halfway up. Hadn’t done that before.

I guess keeping that tube hot did the trick. I will go back and re-read using heat with pumping. Still no donut ,until later in the evening, but this time it looked like a bubble on a bad tire ready to blow not even all the way around. Looked weird but it wasn’t a blister.

Obviously what you’re doing is working for you, so keep with it. I wish I could avoid fluid so easily.

Re: the balloon thing, I don’t know. Try it and report back. That’s how we learn. If length is your focus, I suspect stretching and/or hanging before pumping will work better than going to a skinnier tube toward the end of your session.

Heat is good for all kinds of PE, pumping included. Ever tried water pumping in a hot bath? If you have the facilities, try it.

This morning I did 3 15 minute pumping sets in a hot bath, squeezing and bending before and in between, then cooled down in the tube. First time I tried this. After draining the bath, I put 2 ice cubes in the tube and filled it with water from the cold tap. Stuck my dick in and pulled about 3.5” vacuum (low since I wasn’t wrapped) for 5 minutes. Was nicely chilled after I pulled out. I don’t know if deliberately cooling while expanded is worth the effort.
