I know this isn't AS effective as pumping, but will it help at all

Ok here’s the deal. I had a pump to pump with and someone in my house has borrowed it and lost it.

I can’t afford a new one at the moment, so would a viable alternative be to suck thru the tube? I know I’ll have to continuously suck, which is hard work! I tried it last night, seemed to be good, but is it useless?

There is at least one other guy here that does that, and you can get enough vacuum, no problem. The female connector that screws into the top of your cylinder should have a one way check valve in it to prevent vacuum loss, so you shouldn’t have to suck continuously. Maybe your check valve is stuck open. Try cleaning it out with soap and hot water.

Yes, it works, but you can generate much more than the usual 5-6 inches of mercury (Hg) and that could cause problems with lymph fluid migration into the skin. Suck only hard enough to get a tight feeling without going overboard. Replacement MityVac hand pumps , with the important vacuum gauge, are about £35.

I’ve used my own mouth to create the vacuum pressure for almost two years, since my pump/gauges cracked on me twice. I actually prefer doing it this way now. Follow westla’s advice to “suck only hard enough to get a tight feeling without going overboard”. If you’ve been able to pump and disconnect with your pump/gauge after getting a good seal, you should be able to do the same thing with mouth suction power.

I do sets of 2 x 5 minutes every other day, is that ok, or not enough?

Also, I pump BEFORE jelqing, that’s the best way right?:D

I suck on the hose connected to my tube (gravel vacuum with flared end,) pinch the hose and stick a sharpie marker in the end. Holds well.

If you have a small 1/8” tube, you can get a 1 way valve from an aquarium to maintain vacuum.

I suck with my mouth and it works perfectly. Have been at that for 8 months. My set up does have a vacuum meter. My only worry is hygiene.

slackjaw… First off- The person that borrowed your pump- what did they borrow it for? Do you live in a PE friendly house?

Second- Be careful with your sucking if you suck too hard and pass out,,, just think of how you’ll be found.

I started off with a home made device which used a rubber tube and sucked with my mouth. The thing to avoid is using your tongue to seal the end of the tube as you are expelling the vacuumed air, use your teeth to compress the tube, I used to bend the tube right over to near 360 degrees whcih effctivelly sealed the vacuum and a spring clothes peg to hold it in position, This would last quite happily for an hour or so. Again I agree with Westla’s point about not too much vacuum I did this and got donuts.
