I am getting scared to pump - purple coronal ridge

So I’ve been pumping again, but I am really getting worried about it. By the end second ten minute set, the coronal ridge of my glans starts turning purple where it hits the side of the cylinder. When I come out I don’t like the looks of it, looks like a burn? frostbite?

It goes away about an hour, but it is scaring me as I do not want to damage myself.

Pressure is in the 3 to 4HG range. I’ve got several sizes of cylinders, because I curve to the left my glans hits the wall of all of them.

Doe anybody else have this happen?

I dont think you’re going to do too much damage at that pressure unless you pump too long.Maybe your curve is just causing it to rub and cause skin irritation.

Try using a cylinder that tapers toward the end.

I used to misunderstand the purpose of the tapered cylinders. If you have a curve you need a tapered cylinder, while I used to think the opposite. But in reality, the conical shape will direct the penis in a more straight fashion and the curve will get straighened.

The reason is that with a tapered cylinder, the pressure is uniformly applied along the length of the penis, while with a cylindrical tube all of the pressure occurs at the point of contact between the smashed glans and the wall of the cylinder.

Also make sure the cylinder is wide enough.

Thanks, guys for the comments and the suggestions.

Mentula you make me think of something else, I could maybe go in softer. That way the vacuum would straighten out my curve. I dunno know though, I feel like I get most out of it if I am pretty hard.

Yes, I forgot to say that in order to benefit from the tapered cylinders for curved salamis, you cannot enter the cylinder while being 100% hard.

If you have a curve and you want to pump while 100% hard, then most likely you need one of those balloon shaped very expensive cases ( I don’t remember the manufacturers right now - but anyway that’s the reason they were invented). But those balloon shaped cylinders, while not smashing your glans, will make the curve worse, because the longer side of your salami will expand at a faster rate than your shorter side.

Personally I don’t have that problem because I am 61 and I have ED from past dope, ongoing alcoholism and current age. Even if I start hard, the vacuum is not enough of a stimulus to keep me hard. I need a 21 y.o. stripper for that. Or, my old wife.

God bless,

mentula

Here’s a paranoid thought. Just how reliable and accurate are any of these gauges, particularly since PE applications typically use the very bottom end of the measuring range? Most instruments give their most accurate reading in the middle of their measurement range, not at the extreme ends of the measuring range.

maybe it could be hipoxia??

What kind of lube are you using?

Do you want to keep or straighten the curve?

I’m using KY on the cylinder and watered-down KY (astroglide consistency) on my unit. Now that you mention that it occurs to me that when I pumped before I used KY on my unit and really globbed it on thick on my glans. So there is something to try.

I haven’t thought much about straightening the curve. I am cool with it, but if it straightened out some I would be ok.

Another thing: since I switched to water pumping, I get a lot less lymph buildup and bruising, with the added advantage of not having to mess with oil all the time (and the cylinder stay cleaner as well - of course unless you like to spray your juice in them at the end of each session like some individuals on this board). Honestly I cannot figure out why water is better than oil, but it just works.

IMO, EVERYONE should give heated water pumping a try. Seriously, if you haven’t, prepared to be amazed.

For me water pumping is good in theory, but not so good in practice. Few times I tried it. went like this.

Get hard.
Put water in Cylinder
Oops water to hot!
Oops Hard-on Gone
Get hard.
Put water in cylinder
Oops water not warm enough
Oops Hard-on Gone

With air it is
lube cylinder
get hard
go in cylinder.

Maybe I just need more practice.

If you want to use hot water, you need to find a way to heat the cylinder from the outside after you start, because no matter how warm the water is, the heat will dissipate pretty quickly in a matter of a couple of minutes (there isn’t just enough water to preserve the heat long enough). Same thing if the water is too cold: after a minute or two, your body heat will have the water temperature the same as your body temperature.

I agree. I use my infrared lamp to keep everything nice and toasty. It’s adjustable so it’s very easy to move it if I need more or less heat.

Sta, are you taking a break every five minutes or so?

- reducing vacuum to near-zero for thirty seconds every five minutes, or
- coming out of the cylinder completely every five minutes for a little massage or short sequence of jelqs?

If you’re not doing that, give it a try.
