Hot Water Pumping Question.

Hot Water Pumping Question.

About five weeks ago I purchased a cheap pump from a local sex shop as I wanted to see what pumping was all about. The tube is quite large (3 X 10) but has a rubber gasket at the base to slip your unit through to create a seal. It also came with a brass and plastic pump. This pump and tube really sucked when pumping with air but has been great in the bath with hot water. I have been using it five days per week for the past five weeks with no ill effects either to my unit or the tube and pump. Now that I know I like pumping, I went ahead and ordered a custom fit “Wide Mouth’ from lapdist. That is expected next week. I will use this pump on that tube and expect some great results.

My question is with regards to a previous thread I read about pumping in water. The thread stated that you should pump to 1/2 inch short of your BPEL for girth and 1/4 inch short of your BPEL for length. Since I am concentrating on length at the present time, I have tried the latter. I find that when pumping 1/4 inch short of my BPEL, it is just not enough. I do two 15 minute sets and each set as intervals dropping the pressure down to a minimum for 30 seconds every five minutes. At first, the ‘1/4 inch short’ pressure is sufficient but I can easily go up to 3/4 inches above my BPEL by the second set. This is a comfortable pressure and I have had no problems with fluid retention or any donut effect. At the end I simply have a great pump that lasts for hours. EQ is great. So, am I making a mistake pumping to this pressure? Will I see better results if I stick with the protocol listed in the other thread? It just seems that that pressure is not sufficient for any real pump. I ask the veterans out there to please advise me on this.

I will report my findings when I use the new tube with the current pump. I am pleasantly surprised that I got such a great underwater pump at such a cheap price. I think with the “Wide Mouth” elliptical cylinder, I will see great results.

Oh, one other question: My unit is sort of oval shaped being wider from side to side. What do you guys think of once in a while rotating the tube so it is thicker top to bottom? I think I would pack from side to side but would pump my corpus spongiosum more resulting in some more thickness there. Increasing the size of the CS could help incredibly with overall volume. Anyone have any experience with this? As I wrote, I am more interested in length at the present time but any girth gains from the pump will be welcomed as well. I’ll take whatever gains I can get!

Thanks, guys!

Providing you are not damaging your penis - and you are not it seems. There is no reason why you should change what you are currently doing.

I found that turning the pump tended to increase the girth. ie. my unit came out of the tube with a distinct improvement in girth, and stayed swollen for several hours , though gradually declining. But there has been an overall increase in girth.

So just stay with your routine. but don’t be tempted to go overboard

I hope you don’t really mean HOT WATER. Because hot water will burn you.

You want warm water.

I am built the opposite of you - wider top to bottom, narrower side to side.

So I would like to be wider in top view.

The only tube I have seen to take this in to account is the elliptical one made by LapDist and a few others.

Thanks for the assurance. When you write “turning the pump,” I assume you mean “turning the tube.” Apparently, you have an elliptical tube. So, even though I am wider East to West, you think I will see a CS improvement if I set the widest part of the elliptical pump North and South? This makes sense to me as I will be packing sideways and could only expand top and bottom then. Do you recommend a split session with one 15 minute set dedicated to the normal way and the other 15 minutes to the North/South configuration? Or, do I just do that once in a while?

Thanks, petitfaun!

Sta-kool,

Yes, I meant very warm water and not hot. No problems there. I have just ordered that elliptical lapdist tube and expect it next week. I have read great things about it. I have this cheap mass-produced tube and pump now and even with that I have seen some good results. I can’t wait to use the quality tube especially as the claims state it can help gain girth and length up to 40% faster. Even if it’s 5% faster it would be awesome! As I wrote, I lucked out with the cheap pump as it works extremely well in water. Using this pump and the lapdist tube should produce very good results. After working on length for a bit, I would love to increase my CS and this method of turning the tube makes sense to me. I have good width East to West and would love that extra volume down below. We’ll see how it works.

Sta-kool, how often do you pump? How long are your sets? I do two 15 minute sets per day five days per week. Every five minutes I drop the pressure down to a minimum for 30 seconds or so then pump back up. I seem to get better expansion that way. I do 100 slow jelqs in between the two sets and 100 at the end. Only been doing this in addition to my normal routine for five weeks but it seems to be working well. Have a good pump for hours after and on the weekends, my days off, it feels fuller and longer. EQ has been great! Hope these gains cement themselves. Pumping is now my favorite PE exercise!

Sta-kool,

I also wanted to let you know that I decided on the lapdist pump not because of the cheaper price, but because it has a lip. I think that you will get an easier seal with the lip then without. Both look like quality well made tubes but that difference did it for me. I would think the lip would also make it more comfortable then the edge of the vacutech digging into your pubic area. I’ll let you know what I think when it arrives.

Good luck!

Congratulations! Please report back when you get it, I am really wanting one of the lapdist ones. Some people do prefer the kind without the lip, but I agree with you.

Did you get a new pump along with the cylinder?

I have just started pumping regularly again after not doing it for a while.

My routine is 30 minutes at 2.5 to 3.5HG. Sometimes I go for 45 mins. 60 mins seems like too long, for me.

I stay in the tube for that whole time, but I cycle the pressure down to 0 or 1HG about every 5 minutes. I leave it a 1HG for 30 secs and go back up to 3HG or whatever.

After that I spend about 10 minutes edging with a very good erection, just to get the blood going. This was recommended to me by gprent

So far I have been doing it every other day. I did try twice in a row on Mon and Tues, it seemed like too much for me. So taking the day off today and resuming every other day. Everybody is different though.

I was going to purchase a pump with a gauge but after trying pumping with air and with water, I preferred the latter, by far. The cheap pump I bought with the cheap tube works great in water. Maybe it was because the tube was so cheap and so large that I preferred the water, but it also seems like lots of the guys here prefer water pumping. No fluid build-up and a great pump. Feels good too. So, I decided on the high-end tube with the cheap pump for water pumping. If I decide to give air pumping a try again, I’ll go and buy a high quality pump with a gauge. It was the fact that I like pumping with water so much more that lead me to ask these questions about pressure. I want to be careful not to exceed my limits and without a gauge you really need to pay attention. It just felt that the protocol from a previous thread stating to stay at 1/4 inches below BPEL was too little pressure for me. I find that right at my BPEL and up to 1/2 - 3/4 inches above it (by the end of the second set) feels right to me. Since my EQ is good, I guess it is fine.

I am pumping five on and two off with no adverse effects but I will mix it us as I do with all of my routines. I will try two on and one off and every other day as well over the next few weeks. I attack my PE like I do working out and always mix it up to avoid boredom and to hit my unit with different stresses. I just don’t like the idea of sticking to one routine. This has been working for me but not to say that sticking to a more strict routine wouldn’t work either. I just am much more motivated when mixing it up.

I will keep you posted after I try out the elliptical for a few days. I think I’m going to really love it. Especially with the shape of my unit, I feel I will see much better results. Hey, a lot of this PE stuff is in the head anyway. If you’re enthusiastic about something and optimistic, I think your results will be better. I am rarely, if ever, bored with my routines and never look upon the PE workout as a task or chore. I look forward to taking one step close to my ultimate goal and get a boost from sticking with it religiously for about six months now. I know this stuff works and I feel like I stumbled upon some great discovery. Thunders has been a great stepping stone for me and has enlightened me to the real world of PE.

Do you pump with water at all? If not, please give it a try and let me know what you think. It seems like the way to go.

One more thing, sta-kool: I think you are right-on about cycling the pressure every five minutes. From my research here and around the web, this seems to produce the best results. I see much better expansion by cycling then with one solid long set. This cycling is sort of like a Tabata workout where you take small rests between sets. It is enough of a break to relieve pressure, or in the case of lifting, relieve some lactic acid build-up. I just see better results by doing this. The only reason I do two 15 minute sets and not one 30 minute one is because I like to do 100 jelqs in between the sets. I am hoping this will help keep my unit evenly pumped and help cement gains. Just my opinion.

I have been pumping for 1.5 months. I use an oval cylinder with a bulb pump. After warming up, I go 15 on and 5 0ff. (Jelqs during the 5 minutes)The bulb pump allows me to suck out very small amounts every 5 minutes. I do a series of three. I do this in the bathroom while taking a shower. During the final 15 minutes I turn the shower on hottest position and let the hot water run over the tube. Great results

Do you cycle in the 15 minute sets? Meaning, do you drop pressure for a few seconds? What kind of results have you seen?

That is kind of my model as well.

I water pumped twice and enjoyed it, somehow I just end up going with air.

If you do decide to upgrade your pump, get the Harbor Freight Tools “Brake Bleeder” pump. Brass constuction, accurate gauge, and water capable. It is the one I have, it is very solid and wonderful.

$25.00, sometimes on sale for $20.00. It is also apparently the same as the lapdist brass pump (I have seen the lapdist pump at a store)

There is a store locator page on the website, I am pretty sure there is one near you.

Brake Bleeder and Vacuum Pump Kit
“Includes pump with vacuum gauge, two 2 ft. lengths of tubing, vacuum adapters, brake bleeder adapters, brake fluid reservoir”

There is a long thread on thunders about it here:

Sorry Hard8.

Strangely, I did see that error and meant to change it to tube, then missed it. But glad you saw what I meant

You would have to be packing the tube before it would make any difference . But I am not oversure that an elliptical tube would radically change the shape. As I would guess it takes quite a bit of ‘pressure’ to change one part without changing the other. ‘I’m fairly circular all round and happy with that, so I have no experience of ‘targetted’ shaping.

Good luck with your efforts!

Great find, sta-kool! Thanks! I wanted a water friendly gauge just to keep a check on things. I will order immediately. Thanks again!

I’ll let you know how it goes. I will easily pack the 2 inch tube side to side if I turn it so I am hoping I’ll see a CS increase. Not looking for a major reshaping but a litltle extra below would be cool in terms of overall volume. It would be nice if this hit the CS directly. I’ll see how it goes and report.

Thanks for your help!
