flared-lip cylinder vs. cylinder with sleeve

flared-lip cylinder vs. cylinder with sleeve

For pumping, I’ve always used a cylinder with a sleeve for sealing. After trying a few different sleeves I’ve never found one that’s comfortable, especially when removing the sleeve. And more importantly, it seems like with these sleeves seem like my girth expansion and growth would be negatively affected, since the base part of my cock that’s in the sleeve is always constrained to even smaller than its usual erect girth.

Now I’m learning that the better cylinders/pumps have a flared lip, and no sleeve at all - and rightly so, since I wouldn’t have any of the above issues with such a cylinder. But I’m not clear on how a good seal is achieved with these things. If my pubes were shaved, I guess it would be easy enough, using a little lube. But I’m not shaved down there, and don’t intend to ever do it. So would a flared-lip cylinder even work for me?

I actually had the exact same concern regarding the donut I have. I ended up trimming off the part that was constricting my shaft. It works fine. Obviously the hole is still the same size causing some constriction but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was. The 1” long inside wall was the part I trimmed off.

I also just purchased a flanged cylinder within the past few months. It is very comfortable and no donut is required for sealing. However, if you want it to seal properly, you’re going to have to trim your pubes.

It’s too bad that I won’t be able to use a flanged cylinder, then, but I like the idea about modifying the donut/sleeve that I have. But if anyone else has had better luck being a little girthy and using a sleeve, I’d love to hear about it. My girth is 5.5+”, and what I’ve used so far has been too constricting.

The standard silicone donut - the kind I use - fits a 2 1/4” cylinder and has a 1 1/4” opening. Does anyone know of one that has a larger opening, and/or fits a larger cylinder?

You don’t have to shave. A little selective trimming at the base is all you really need to do.

And there’s another style choice besides flanged or using a donut/sleeve. I like the thickwall cylinders, myself.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

What is a thickwall cylinder and why do you prefer it? Thanks

Trimming, not shaving? How close a trim are we talking?

I’m curious about the thickwall cylinders too, although at a guess it sounds like it might essentially be the same as the flared-lip type?

Thickwall cylinders are generally straight sided tubes with walls about a 1/4inch thick and with no flange or lip just the end rounded over slightly,

as long as you get the right size they seal fine and they also seem to get deeper into the fat pad which i think helps target the inner penis a bit better.

Because of the smaller surface area some people can find them a bit uncomfortable at first but you get used to it, i wouldn’t use anything else now.

I use my hair trimmer with no guard.

What brand thickwall cylinder do you use?

Company in the UK called Thickwall.co.uk, very similar to Vacutech in the US from what i’ve seen

Whatever pumping I’ve done over the years has been with a standard issue Kaplan tube -which is now getting to be almost not long enough and had worked just fine for me

Plenty of lube overcomes any hair issue and a proper warmup and and a little pre-pump jelq provide enough girth to get a seal.

Aren’t Kaplan tubes tapered? Bigger at base and get narrower towards the head???
