Any brass pump will do. Gauge can be easily damaged by water plus you don’t really need it.

Why would you not need a gauge? Overdoing it can do some serious damage.

I have a gauge but I hardly look at it. Pain is a good guide, just make sure you don’t feel any. I doubt you can do serious damage unless you do something stupid like staying in for an hour, feeling constant pain, and seeing your dick turning blue and then …

Watching your cock when pumping can be a very good guide.

The value of a gauge

I suppose the value of a gauge depends, in part, on what approach one takes to pumping.

I’m doing longer duration pumping with less vacuum, and thus for me, pain is no guide at all. I never get close to pain. If I want to keep pressure quite low, but high enough to be effective, I need the gauge.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

I personally wouldnt go by pain alone, a gauge is definitely worth having. When I used a gravel cylinder and would pump up to 10hg it would hurt a little but once I purchased my Lapdist cylinder 10hg feels nothing like it did in the past and is sort of comfortable. Does this mean 10hg is a wise pressure to pump at? Certainly not but it feels ok.

I kind of had the same problem. Make sure that the female coupler attached to the cylinder is tightened. If you turn it clockwise, you will release vacuum pressure. In addition, make sure that you release the pressure using your pump before you start.
