cornstach + silicone = cheap homemade sleeve

Just check in youtube “cornstach silicone” is very easy and you can make your own sleeve using your cilynder as a mold.

By the way I use a food-grade silicone, I don´t like the regular acid silicone be in contact with my skin.

Does it dry? I’ve watched two of these tutorials and they haven’t left me with any impression as to whether this stuff will ultimately retain its shape.

Of course, you can wash it too with hot water, it does not melt.

It’s like regular silicones once dried.

Proto-Putty is what Youtuber The King of Random calls it. He has many videos where he uses it, including to make gaskets for diy vacuum chambers. It appears to fully cure and be very durable.

Interesting. What do you find are the advantages over straight silicone, without the cornstarch? I made a VLC hanger with straight silicone #2 and the only issue I’ve had with it is the brittleness.

I think that regular silicone is sticky and dificult to mold.
