bathmate x40 question

I’ve been water pumping with a regular acrylic 9” × 2.25” cylinder since last summer. Ive slowly come to start packing the lower half now, I originally started using this cylinder because I packed the 2” one pretty quickly. My BPEL is 8.25”.

Here is the question, I want to order the x40 but with there being so much info on the size of the bathmate I don’t know if the x40 will be too large, just right, or I’d out grow it quickly as well. I pump very close to my BPEL so even the length of the bathmate I’m not sure about. Any help would be great. I’ve scoured Google with very little help, usually 3 different answers is what I get.

I’ve used standard cylinders for water pumping and I also own a bath mate. My advice is stick to the standard cylinder. The bath mate is way more money and far less convenient to use. Seal issues and its overall size are a huge downfall.

To answer your question, I am about the same BPEL as you (8.375”) and the x30 was plenty long enough for me.

I out grew my old Hercules pump and bought an x40 thinking it was next logical step for me, I had to jump through a few hoops to get it to work half decent, like using a universal pump sleeve which it does work, I love/hate the x40,I use it w/o the added pad, I love my old hercules pump because of the gaiter setup, but you length is more than mine and you would run it out in length first. So I agree with the others on the x40, if I was big enough I’d buy the goliath because it is just like the hercules, in hindsight I’d had tried the penomet. So I agree with the others opinions. If you’re dead set on another pump, I’d look at the penomet ultimate set with all the gaiters. I only chime in because we have a similar girth.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I by no means am going to stop using my current setup. I just want to try something new. I’ll look into the penomet as well. I had sealing problems with this 2.25 cylinder as well then I cut off the bottom of the 2” cylinder and glued it to the bigger one. Problem solved!

Not sure about the bathmate but you will fit the penomet at that length. I have one and have had no seal issues, helps to be shaved for a skin seal.
