Bathmate Users -- how do you manage pressure?

Thank you for your feedback guys, it is really appreciated!

I think it\'s amazing, the way that love can set you free...

Sta-kool, that would be like you using the 50 lb dumbbells in the gym week.after week.after week. We wouldn’t do that would we? ;-)

Yeah, I hear you. I think this strategy would work for finding a starting point though. I’ve got my bathmate on order — when I get it I think I will try the “memory” method — pump in the “air cylinder” and then switch to the bathmate and find a similar feeling pressure.

I heard of a guy using it in the bath, not the shower, which I imagine would keep it on much better.

Would anyone recommend this as a first pump to buy?

After reading up on a few threads,

I want my first pump experience to be water pumping.

I am torn between water pumping with a “traditional” pump or the bathmate.

My main concern with the bathmate is durability, really.

Ask gprent, I only have the bathmate.

I think the preferred first pump to buy would be a regular air pump with a gauge so you get a handle on exactly what you are doing from a pressure standpoint.

If you are set on going for water pumping, I don’t think the Bathmate has any durability issues. It is a well made device. I believe the Bathmate web site gives a demo on how much they have tested the device for durability.

If you try water pumping with a gauge, you have to isolate the gauge from getting water into it, because normal air gauges and water are not compatible.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I’m getting the hang of it - this morning I wore it while washing dishes and eating breakfeast. A bit difficult, but possible. Luckily I don’t have privacy problems right now.

minime — I agree with gprent — I too think it would be best to start with a traditional air pump with a gauge to get used to the feel of what "proper pressure" in the 2.0 to 5HG range feels like. Some of the airpumps are water compatible or can retrofitted to be so. For example the pump I have is water compatible:

Harbor Freight Tools – Quality Tools at Discount Prices Since 1977

You see that little cup? That collects the water and keeps it from entering the pump.

Now you may ask why I am getting the bathmate if I already have a water compatible pump. Basically for the convenience of an all in one piece. No set up involved. However if I did not have the air pump and have a sense of proper pressure, I would be worried I would not know how far to go with the bathmate.

My bathmate should come by Monday, if not earlier. mgus, the idea of you washing dishes in it is hilarious.

Hey Sta-kool,
I found something similar to the harbor freight device,
bought a fish tank gravel cleaner,
and actually experienced my first water pumping last night.
Definitely something different!
5HG really scared and confused the heck out of my unit.

But really, the Bathmate would be so much more convenient.
On the brighter side, now with the money I saved I can go out and buy some of Monkeybar’s toys!

Me

How is the Bathmate experiment going gents? Gprent? Sta-kool? Mgus?

I am going to give the principle a try with my cylinder. I bought a valve that fits in line on my hose to my cylinder. I can pull a vacuum by mouth and then turn the valve and shut it off. I’m going to try using this in my hot tub and see how it goes. I did about 5 minutes today with what felt like more than the 4 in hg I’m used to with air and I got no red spots.

I’m interested to see if it allows for higher vacuum without the negative effects of edema and red spots. I seemed to have pretty good flaccid, but I am coming off a one week decon.

It WILL provide a higher pull ability with no red spots or fluid buildup really. I did it for 45 minutes one time kinda high pressure, and my dick came out huge. It actually was the first time ever hitting my ex’s cervix in missionary.

Thats quite a testimonial! How about long term gains?

Didn’t do it a whole lot. Water pumping with a regular pump is a pain, and I was and still am focusing on length.

I got my bathmate early last week but didn’t have time to try it until today.

1. fit and finish is excellent. The piece seems built to last. Design is pretty ingenious, pressure release valve works very well.

2. for me at least this is a “lying down” device. I could get some pressure standing up but my penis was not submerged in water, so it would be air pumping with a little water thrown in. Lying down is the way to go — complete submersion, even pressure.

3. I did not find managing the pressure to be difficult. But I think it was because I have had experience with gauge based air-pumping, so I know what “feels right”. Of course your mileage may vary, you are probably smarter than me!

4. This lacked the difficulty/annoyance factor ironaddict69 talked about regarding water pumping with regular gear.

All and all it was a good trial run.

I should note that I don’t ever pump flaccid — I like to have a 70 to 80% erection going in. Flaccid pumping doesn’t work well for me at all — uneven expansion, glans does not fill with blood at all, aching afterwards. Given the newness of the device and the failed “standing up” experiment, my penis got all shy and I was probably down to 30 or 40% by the time I got into the bathmate lying down. I went ahead anyway.

I got even blood blood flow and even expansion, including glans. So that is a real positive for me.

But was there a gauge on the bathmate? Some kind of numbers to indicate the level of pressure or force exerted? Or is the only way to manage the amount of pressure to memorize using a traditional air pump?
