Bathmate Users -- how do you manage pressure?

I describe it as “pain” but it’s just at the limit of being painful at which point you naturally react and reduce pressure to avoid damage.

Whenever I experienced that feeling in the past, I usually experienced growth. It’s a sign that you’ve expanded your tunica to it’s safe maximum size.

Actually, the next day my EQ suffered somewhat, in future I think that I’ll stay in a more comfortable pressure after manual stretches and jelqing

Hi, just a quick question I got my bathmate Hercules and I am wonder because my cock expands to the circumference of the tube is it possible that it will reach that size one day?

Not impossible but probability is remote.

Hi guys,

Great thread! I have read through all your posts on this thread and even read through many other BM threads to get as much knowledge on the product and use as possible. As someone beginning to PE again, I am trying a bathmate emphasized routine that will have me using it every day in the bathtub for about 10-20 minutes for about 5 months. First I went to maximum pressure on my initial day. Don’t do this. Then I tried a single pump or 2 to just get the minimal seal. This was feeling comfortable, but had me concerned that my pump wasn’t reaching enough. Gauging the correct pressure is tough, but as others have said, use common sense and comfort to learn.

Through some trial and error as gprent promotes and reading through the forums, It seems that girth gains are most prevalent and small length gains are achieved by some. Max vacuum (4-5 pumps) should not be a target until a few weeks to a month (if not longer). Most recommend 60-80% erect water pumping with the BM. To maintain the erection, try milking the tube (lightly tugging the tube) or watching porn.

The ultimate test is always going to be comfort and end results. Watch for donuts, edema, blisters, or any red spots. Achieve the stretch without pain and with comfortable tension. Personally, I don’t see any issues from my readings with eventually doing 20 minute sessions as long as EQ checks out.

Every one has different junk, so use peoples routines as a guide to gauge yourself. Start slow and do some basic stretches.

My largest question I am trying to answer is whether the 4-5 pumps as stated in the guide for max vacuum is too much for anyone or is it okay to eventually pump until no more water comes out. 5 pumps is a solid amount of pressure that surely create more than 5hg I would think.

Thoughts?

Measuring Bathmate Pressure

Hi all,

Bumping up an old thread.
Thought I’d mention a way to roughly measure pressure on a Bathmate.

If you seal the base off with a container lid, with a hole with a MityVac attached, you can then pump the bellows down with air & watch how much of the grey inner tube is showing above the base.

Tried this earlier & the inner tube is flush with the body at about 2.5-3 inHg.

About 10mm of mine is showing by 5 inHg & it stops getting any greater at about 8-10inHg.

Find about the 3 to 5 range is the most comfortable.
Above that seems a bit intense.

Cheers

Looks like Attachements showing the inner tube didn’t get approved.

Not sure if are models are the same.
Pictured was an X20, genuine, but also have an X30, which may be a knock off, unsure, and the X30 doesn’t have the same long inner tube.

I always find Bathmate normal pressure stronger than air, pump 5hg

Just bought my bathmate 3 weeks ago. Hydroxtreme. I read through the entire thread. I have 14 months of very consistent PE. I am trying to understand why people say watch your dick like a hawk when it is in the tube? I do not want to get ED from pumping. I feel like I’m figuring out the learning curve. Any insight? Tips?

Kittens,
It is good to be mindful of what’s happening in the tube but you shouldn’t have any issues as long as you start out with light pressure and keep the time in the tube short. No need to rush into long sessions or high pressure.

With 14 months of PE under your belt you should be pretty familiar with your dick. Listen to it and you should be fine. In my opinion, the most important thing is to stay disciplined when it comes to pressure and time. It’s really easy to like what you see in the tube and pump longer than you should or up the pressure when it’s not necessary. Everyone is different but more is not always better.

Are you using the bathmate in your routine now?

Spend the money on a conventional cylinder. You can watch visibly what’s occurring. The best part is your results are repeatable because you have a way to measure vacuum levels.

Hi thanks for the response.
I cannot over state how disciplined and consistent I have been. I have made great progress. I have some other posts about my PE history. I’ll keep it short. Basically 8 months of cookie cutter newbie stuff. It made me familiar with what works for myself and what does not.

The last 2-3 months I have started the beginning of “advanced” routine for me. It’s like starting all over it’s very fun learning the techniques and intensities that work for myself.
I have had the bathmate hydroxtreme for exactly 3 weeks.

This is the nature of what I’m doing now.
(D1) 2 sets 7min clamping. Very good and intense. Intuition tells me this is all I need right now

(D2) rest.
(D3)bathmate pump in bathtub, warm up stretch with cock ring then 3 sets of pumping.
1st set very low pressure 5 min.
2nd set 6-7min with tight cock ring.
3rd set 5 min with medium tight cock ring. 40 jelqs straight up towards chin.

(D4) manual stretch 25 min in bathtub. 40 jelqs straight up.
(D5) rest.

Some days the rest day is reassigned. So I’m playing with this routine cycle right now.
I wasn’t trying to over explain but I feel that variables and context are more important pieces of information than just one dimension of the routine.
This may be a little much for me dick right now I will give it another 2 weeks and check my PIs and EQs.

I think you have to go by the amount of time that you pump. I haven’t used that in a while but I think you only need like 1, 2 maybe 3 pumps. Using a pump with warm water makes it work much better than with air. Even if you use a regular pump

TL;DR: You can have an idea of the internal pressure of the internal pressure of the bathmate by measuring how tall is the base. That’s especially simple in the 2-5 inHG range. Look at the attached table if you have a Hydromax 7.

Hi guys,

I posted this on the Italian forum but got no response there.

I somewhat was able to measure pressure inside the Bathmate, so I want to share my experience with you.

FIrst off the Bathmate is not a pump: it works like a suction cup: when sealed over your pubes and the valve is closed, the base, which is deformable, tries to go back to its original shape, increasing its inside volume creating negative pressure. So, the negative pressure depends on the strength generated by the base in a particular moment, and the strength generated by the base depends on how compressed it is.

So I’m starting to think, “a certain amount of compression equals to a certain amount of pressure” and to confirm it I set up an experiment.

I built an “artificial pubis” with some rigid, smooth and flat material, I used the bottom of a plastic bucket, then I made a 1/2” hole at the center and fitted a vacuum gauge (0-30 inHG) I found on Amazon for 5 euros (the same used to sync carburetors) then I sealed the hole with hot glue so that no air or water would pass.

I filled my Hydromax 7 with water and applied it to the artificial pubis, got a nice seal, then checked the gauge and yes! It was measuring. Now, how do I know it is correct?
Bathmate declared somewhere a max internal negative pressure of 0.55 bar (~16inHG) for the Hydromax and the Hydroxtreme pumps, so I tried to go full pressure, but with my strength I could only reach 10-11 inHG, then I started sucking water from the valve with my mouth, in that way I could top 14,5inHG, but I’m pretty sure with a handball you could squeeze those 2 additional inHGs although the base was already VERY compressed, so I’m convinced the measurement was right.

So I’m starting to test various scenarios, air, water, water with some air, and by putting objects inside it. I measured vacuum and height of the base, with a rigid ruler, by keeping the bathmate as perpendicular as possible, and measuring only the rubber base, nothing else.

Air: the bathmate is not a good air pump, at all, since it works like a suction cup: air can expand and the base is too strong so even if you have a max compression the base is strong enough to return to the original shape (almost) releasing most of the internal pressure. An air pump needs to have a fully solid non-deformable cilinder.
Water+Air: Air inside the pump deteriorate performance, the good news is that an air bubble of up to 1inch doesn’t change internal pressure by much, so if you have such an air bubble during your pumping session, no need to worry about it.
Water: with water I had consistent measurements over various attempts, of which the results you can see in the attached table. You can see how the growth in pressure is pretty linear up to 5inHG then it grows exponentially, from 5 to 15 in just 0.8cm of compression. (Sorry, table headings are in Italian: Compressione=Compression, Altezza=Height, Vuoto=Vacuum, compression is 7.9 minus the height, since the base is 7.9cm uncompressed).

Rigid objects inside the bathmate doesn’t affect the measurements, regardless of size. Flexible object that become rigid after some expansion (like the penis) do the same once they became rigid. Very flexible and expandable objects instead will decrease the internal pressure, by compensating internal pump volume.

Another thing I was able to confirm is that when you have your bathmate under pressure and push it against your body, with the valve closed, you are counteracting the force genereted by the base: in that way you are reducing the pressure even to 0inHG with enough strength. This could be useful to do some kind of pulsing pressure routine.

What are your thoughts?

At this point I’m curious if anyone with a disposable bathmate can try to make a hole somewhere in the cylinder and try to fit a vacuum gauge there and see if it gives a reliable measurement. That would be a nice mod. I tried by putting the entire gauge inside the bathmate but stayed to 0 (I suspect it works by measuring the difference with the ambient pressure).

Also, I want to add to the above post, you can’t rely on the number of pumps you give to the bathmate, that changes for everyone and also by session. You can notice how when your penis expands in the bathmate, the base expands as well, since the expansion of the penis is compensating for the internal pressure, that’s why when you enter flaccid you can do more pumps. That’s because of its working principle, explained in the above post.

You can’t rely on the measuring tape in the bathmate either, but that was already obvious to almost everyone, I think.
