Are you supposed to come out hard?

Are you supposed to come out hard?

This is actually something I never even thought to ask. If I go into the pump hard, should I be coming out rock hard? I come out engorged and more full, but limp after going in hard.

Ditto me, Pat. That seems normal for most pumpers.

With me it’s the other way around, probably because age is a factor (I’m a good deal older than most of you guys). I have some difficulty calling up a strong erection on demand before going into the cylinder, but I come out hard. This can remind us of why pumps are used as therapy for ED, from which I don’t suffer if only because my night-time erections are fine, and I get aroused easily for sex. The lesson is perhaps that age makes a difference in the situation you describe.

I don’t want to rain on your parade so to speak…but I used to think that because I had “nonbendable” nocturnal erections (NEs) and piss hardons (PHs) that my ED was not so bad….or I didn’t understand why I considered that I had ED at all as NEs and PHs are sorta “gold standard” for possible psychogenic ED.

I follow, occasionally now, but more frequently previously, the NewsGroup Alt Support Impotence and I was impressed by a thread that a Joe D began on July 3rd entitled “Night time erections – What’s Up.

Joe D posted that there’s a big difference in the classic Stamp Test vs. Rigi Scan test. The latter giving more date….length of erection, firmness, number of erections, etc.

I asked where he got information….this was his post

My conclusion for myself….I would pass the Stamp Test but would probably fail Rigi Scan Test. But I’m thankful for what I have and some NEs/PHs, no matter how short, few or firmness, are better than none of those characteristics, IMO.

At 65, I can tell that my NEs and PHs are not as frequent and nonbendable compared with 1 – 2 years ago.

Being HIV+ and 65 I don’t have a lot of 3D sexual partners…homoerotic videos, images or stories do not work for me….after initial viewing they are predictive.

I’ve perfected my cybersex skills an hour before I intend going to my fave cyber site, I take 5 gms L-Arginine in small amt of apple juice. Gives me very hard erections….I like edging for 30 – 45 mins before having explosive toss off.

I’m interested in your experience with L Arginine. Does that increase your erection? Or does it just result in more seminal fluid? I’m older that you are by a good bit and I have to say since pumping I am sure that it is easier for me to get an erection than before pumping ( in addition to the growth I have experienced over the years I have been at it .)

I think this is due to continuous dilatation of all the penile blood vessels so that the flow of blood to and from that organ are more like that of a young person , and it shows.

Introduced us to Maca. In a poll a member set up, consensus was that Maca improved erectile function and makes our dick/nuts hang fuller and heavier…does for me.

Thanks for the information. You are right — I’m not as firm as some years ago; originally, I got into PE to try to maintain what I’d got (for much the same reason, I also got into weight training to counteract muscle loss in general). I’ve been enjoying the trip, and feel better now than at any time since my thirties.

Like you, I take L-Arginine, and I’ve been doing well on prescribed testosterone (compounded, bio-identical).

Thanks for the info. on the Rigi Scan — v. interesting.

L-Arginine from http://kilosports.com/ comes with a plastic scoop. One scoop = 5 gms. I was calibrating for measuring Maca and filled some 1000 mg, empty, gel capsules. Contents of one capsule = 1/4th tsp…so 1/4th tsp = 1 gm. I was using a 1/4th tsp that comes in set of measuring spoons: 1/4th, ½ 1 tsp and 1 tbl spoon.

Which do you use? Kilosports has two versions of arginine, Arginine base, and Arginine HCL. Is there an advantage of one over the other?

When I began taking L-Arginine in 1999, L-Arginine HCl was the only form offered.

I’ve never had any problem with diarrhea and I’ve taken 15-20 gms/day. I mix 5 gms with small amount apple juice. The taste is not that bad for me.
