Are Pumping Gains Permanent? Wrong Question

I`m currently very happy with Monty`s golf weights held in place with a thick cloth and a cable clamp, like Saiyan does. I currently do not have a problem with fluid build-up, but personally I don`t think that would be an issue if I were to resume WP.

I can’t use the PE weights while performing a pumping routine myself. I hope you have better luck.

By the way, if lymph fluid does give you problems, try concluding your sessions with a maximum of 20 minutes in an ice cold water pumping set. The lymph fluid, swelling, discoloration, etc. should be reduced quite significantly. Usually 2 medium sized cubes is perfect, make sure you have a long cylinder (preferably a minimum of 3 inches above your BPEL).

No need to be that strict, I think this is a useful conversation, I’m not derailing my own thread that much, and this forum (the pumping forum) is particularly dead nowadays. I think it could use all the activity it can get :D .

No I don’t wrap at the glans. At the base I do with a theraband sleeve just as described above. But I’m still adjusting here and there.

Sorry if it got out of hand.

It seems your intuition was correct, as Thunder has popped up.

I see ticktickticker is viewing the thread. It would be nice to see his recent pumping adventures. He seems to have had some excellent ideas over the years (though always on the side of potentially dangerous I think :D ). He used a higher vacuum to also go past BPEL as we do, but I do not think he water pumped with this.

I could NEVER do what I do with air pumping, for all you non-water pumpers. That would be not only painful but extremely dangerous I think. Water pumping is much safer, as discussed in the water pumping thread.

I was commenting on this part of your post.

I am sorry for being presumptuous, I just didn’t think it would do much harm. I feel like back when I first used to view the forums, in 2007 and 2008, the Main Member and Pumper’s forums seemed much more active. Nowadays it seems that the off-topic forums are more active…so I just thought that any fruitful discussion would help :D .

On the other hand I think those things need to be discussed because PE is far from the world of certainty and sometimes it’s the little details that determine the question of gains or no-gains, health or injury, delight or frustration.

Also I think that from time to time there is a good influx of quality posts in the pumper’s forum. But I’m not that long at Thunders

I agree.

By the way, I wouldn’t move up the sets so quickly. Sticking to 3 sets might be ideal.

Have you considered overloading fatigue and recovery to maximize your performance with water pumping?

Still better to attempt to stay on topic.

I think you’re right, LV. 3 sets is where it’s at. Thanks

I have to admit that I do not yet fully understand the olf/olr method. I need to do some reading in quite first before I make a routine with those features. What I do is based on intuiton and how much time I have. I guess subconsiously I already use those methods partly. Nowadays I’m in a ‘The-more-the-better’ mood. So I always look for increase

I think the paradigm may be even more useful for pumping, particularly with regard to the point of this thread.

At your 3 sets a day, are you fully recovering without needing days off?

(By the way, this is one of the reasons that I believe many pumpers do not achieve long-term gains, they overload on fatigue for too long and the lack of real gains is masked by the 1st and 2nd category of gains).

Thanks for the warnings regarding ice pumping, LV.

I think the OLF/OLR methodology has gotten too little recognition on the forums. Perhaps people think it is more sophisticated than it really is?

I will definitely be using it whether I pump or clamp in my next routine.

Due to my excessively formal syntax, I suppose.

OLF/OLR and general pumping discussions about heat should probably go to the heat thread. Let’s leave this thread somewhat more on topic so that non-pumpers can benefit from it :D (I bumped the other thread).

I tend to answer yes. Sparkyx wrote in another thread concerning waterpumping to take 1 or 2 weeks off after 5 or 6 weeks of training. Those are probably ‘cycles’ then, am I correct? It sounded reasonably to me so that’s what I did. Lots of ongoing training and maybe a day off here and there. But my gains appeared during my break week. I hope that helps somehow.

Interesting post of yours in the “Water Pumping: Alternating Hot & Cold” thread. I will give it another look after dinner.
