Whats your fulcrum weight?

Just wanted to hear from some of you guys who hang with a fulcrum. What is your routine as far as time and weight?

I am curently hanging with the BIB and a sock fulcrum at 18lbs 2 times a day, morning, around 2pm, and then again late evening.

Also I hang morning and evening SD with 25lbs to target the ligs.

Could you PLEASE post some pics of you using your bib with this much weight, and how you wrap?

trip - that doesn’t sound right. Did you start at a low weight on the fulcrum and move up to 18, or did you start that high?

If you started that high, I’d imagine that the shape of your fulcrum is not appropriate. I was up to 20 lbs SO, and couldn’t handle 2lbs on an RSDT fulcrum the first time I hung with one. The stretch will be intense if it’s correct, even at extremely low weights.

I personally hang RSDT 6-12 sets a day depending on free time, and 7.5lbs has been my max weight as of late. I find that when adjusting the depth or height of the fulcrum, you don’t really have to up the weight. It’s more about dispersing the current weight over a different portion of the septum by fine tuning the curve of the fulcrum. I can handle 10lbs comfortably now, hanging SO, so sometimes when I’m short on time or want to accelerate the fatigue, I strap on 10lbs, but that’s rare. 5lbs often does the job. I also add a little more duct tape around the fulcrum every day to ensure that the arc is always growing and I’m always reaching fatigue. I also throw the RSDT in the microwave for a minute and a half before my sets. It seems to help when hanging higher weights comfortably and make reaching fatigue a wee bit easier.

Are you saying that your SO max weight has gone down from RSDT? Nice work on hitting fatigue!

Well I switched my primary angle. Who knows if I could still handle 20 or so SO, haven’t tried. I only hang with the fulcrum for the time being. 10 probably isn’t the max, I was using it as an example of a weight I could handle comfortably at a different angle.

Fulcrum

I will post more about my routine this weekend, but I will say I started out with the Fulcrum with 5lbs and worked my way up. I have just now cut my sessions down to the posted routine, I was hanging 6 times a day, a total of 2 hrs a day with no rest days.

I started March 23rd, thats was about 8 months ago and have made a 1” length gain as of a week or so ago.

Like I said, I will post more in a few days, I will be busy until into the weekend.

Very interesting topic guys. Bib told me to continue with BTC and SD hanging until my lot went from 9 down to 7 or so, but this tunica fatigue you describe is VERY tempting.

Quite honestly, Iron, I’m pretty sure no length gains would be limited if you went RSDT before doing BTC. The RSDT doesn’t really stretch the attachment points and deep inner tunica like OTS/SO does. It nails the septum, and if you look at it and think about it, it’s stretching the tunica from a point somewhere in between the head and the inner attachment points, not at a point where ligs would severely interfere with progress.

You do want to stick with one angle though, I think. No sense in dividing your precious hanging time between RSDT and BTC, and if you’ve already made some progress thus far with BTC why not keep riding it out? You’re probably at a point where you want to keep the ligs deforming in order to keep hanging effectively.

I think the 6 or 7 LOT is a good goal for anyone doing strictly BTC. The smart hanger would get there, then start talking RSDT and OTS and all that jazz.

By the way, I posted some pics of my RSDT rig on the member pics section. Hopefully this will clear up some confusion.

Wow thanks dude I’ll go look. I gained .25 out of a lot of BTC out of nowhere, one day it was just longer, same measuring technique and everything. I did lose about 5 lbs though, so I wonder if that was it. I still get sore from hanging BTC (although it is becoming less), so that must be a good indicator to continue right?
