Wad’s Take on the Captain’s Hanger
Supplies:
· Industrial-Strength Velcro
· Nylon Strap (had 2 yds cut)
· Cable Clamps
· Grippers (“SoftTouch” by Waxman)
· “S” hook
Tools Needed:
· Scissors
· Ruler
Sources:
· Ace Hardware (for the “S” hook)
· Wal-Mart (everything else)
Costs:
· $15.30 (including tax)
Construction Notes:
· Extremely easy to assemble
· Captain’s instructions excellent, highly detailed ( - The Captn’s Wench: PE Device)
Initial Impressions:
· Easy to adjust for personal size (length & girth) – depends soley upon the placing of the Grippers within the Velcro band, as well as trimming the Velcro band if need be.
· Quick & easy to put on and remove
· Not much of a “learning curve” required (although it helps if you are familiar with the wrap material & wrap method you are most comfortable with)
Trial Run (Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 – wee hours o’ the marn):
· 1st set: 5 lbs x 12 minutes (then 10 minute rest)
· 2nd set: 7.5 lbs x 14 minutes (then 12 minute rest)
· 3rd set: 10 lbs x 12 minutes
3 sets, 38 minutes – very comfortable (weight range: 5-10 lbs)
Post-Hanging Impressions:
· I should’ve shaved better
· A skin lotion might also help
· Should’ve kept heat applied while hanging – although I was simply conducting a few trial runs.
· At times, I practically forgot that I was hanging weights – it was that comfortable.
· Got a nice deep stretch in ligs (I was testing the hanger soley BTC).
· I enjoy multi-tasking, so hands-free PE is for me; I only wish I had more privacy time to pursue hanging hours per day….in the near future, perhaps.
Captain, I give you a “10” on this one!
