Hey all! I haven’t been around Thunders for quite sometime, and I haven’t done any vacuum hanging for even longer. I’ve been thinking about starting again and was hoping to find out what the latest and greatest vacuum hangers are, and what new techniques people have come up with. Has vacuum hanging made any progress the last few years? This thread has been such a valuable resource to me and many others…so I hope that you don’t mind that I revive it. Please post any new relevant info, hangers, and success stories. Thanks everyone!

Years ago when the first or second vac hanger was made I was hanging 2 hours a day and got up to 15 lbs. At the time I was trying to get up to a high weight fast and switched to the bib, not going in to it but I couldn’t get it right after a year. Monkeys vac was so comfortable. Using tape eliminated blisters and I was hanging for 60 mins at a time, I Now believe my approach was all wrong and Lower weights for long would do the job.

Any Vac hangers around now?

I would like to give it a shot. I’ve been messing around with the bib starter for awhile and cannot get my shaft to stop twisting so I think I’m going to try making a captains wench and try a vac hanger as well. Do you know where I can order one?

I’m interested in the vacuum method over the clamping.

Are there any particular good brands of VAC hanger kits or will any brand do the job?

I have been using the grip system and I like it better than the BIB hanger. I have a bib but just can’t get comfortable with it. I have hung up to 15 lbs using the Grip system.

Read that Vac Hanging may render the penis ugly? Why is that and what does that mean?

I think guys that diden’t tape the head would come out a bit bruised, swollen. I did when I diden’t tape years ago. After I taped it stopped.

I must add that I just started using the Vac v4 from monkeybar and I’m in love with it. This is the first time using a vac with the vacuum ring and its so good, takes 30 secs extra to get on and it comes off instantly. Anyone else using this?

Vac 4.1

The vac 4.1 is what I’m using, only a month or so into it and am hanging 5 pounds for 30 minute sets and having no problems so far, I typically use an extender for another hour or so then jelq if I have time. My EQ is great and it seems I’m already making gains. I’m knocking on the door of 6” BPEL and was about 5.75” BPEL last measure before starting the hanging routine. I have a bib starter that I ordered but haven’t even tried yet as I haven’t figured out how to properly use it yet. I think I’ll stick with the vac until I’ve reached it’s weight limits or I’m just so incredibly long my girl friend begs me to stop :)

What is the Vac 4.1?

I think that’s the most recent iteration. That’s what was on my receipt anyway. I ordered this guy from autoextender usa orders site:

Answering the OP’s questions and asking a few of my own:

1. What kind of vacuum hanger are you using? Monkey Bars Vac4.1
2. How long have you been vacuum hanging? Two months
3. Other hangers used? Nope
4. Gains and/or Losses: Seem to be up about a 1/4” already
5. How do you wrap…if you do.: I don’t
6. Any tips or tricks that you have learned.: Not yet, still a newb
7. What’s your routine:

Morning routine: wake up 1 hour early and vac hang 5 pounds for 30 minutes over edge of bed while catching more zzz’s, jell/squeeze for 5 minutes, 5 pounds vac hang for 30 minutes, bath mate for 5 or 10 minutes in shower then extender for an hour.

Evening routine: extender for as many hours as time permits, usually an hour or two, hot pad for 10 minutes, vac hang 5 pounds for 30 minutes over edge of bed while catching more zzz’s, jelq/squeeze for 5 minutes, 5 pounds vac hang for 30 minutes, jelq/squeeze then extender for another hour unless it’s bedtime.

8. Basically anything that you think would might help others: I feel I’m too much of a newb to assist yet.
9. Questions….

Should I work towards heavier weights for my current sets or should I try to work towards continuous hanging (meaning an hour plus straight without the break) and longer duration?

I’m not getting near as sore as I did when I started but still feel a good pull, especially when I get into a between the cheeks position during my morning sets while still in bed. I basically curl into a fetal sleep position and let the two 2.5 pound plates hang from a long piece of twine over the edge of the foot of the bed. Works great. In the evenings I’m hanging straight out over a pvc pipe under my knees while sitting and watching TV or reading up on Thunders Place.

Anyone else for his personal experience with vacuum hanging? This thread is great, it should be kept alive.
