VAC4.1 autoextender hanging

I have been doing a hanging routine for last 2 weeks or so. I am using monkeybar’s Vac4.1 for it and so far it is going good.

I would like to know if there are other members also using the VAC based system for hanging purposes and if so what are there routines.

I see that too much information is there for the Bib Hanger and most of the threads in Hanging forum address issues pertaining to the traditional hangers.

I thought it would be nice to have a thread for VAC based hangers.

I’ve just changing onto Bib but I would like to use both to keep it random. Got fed up with the blister risk so I’m trying other things also. Just had 2 weeks out of action. Apart from that it’s a great system. Never reached fatigue using it though but that could be for other reasons. Would be good to know what others think

@r.oates - Are you using the VAC4.1 or the older system?

So far my hanging routine is going risk free, but I only hang 6.6lbs. Normally for me by the end of my 4th set my ligs are screaming and I barely manage the full 20 mins session.

What weight were you using and what was your routine?

Earlier model. Never got the fatigue I hear a lot about. Up to 5kg on 20min sets up to 1 hour. The last time I tried to achieve fatigue I did almost 2 hours in split sets. Hadn’t felt a problem, took it off and found a blood blister the size of a grape. I used a condom rolled partially down to prevent it for months and it was fine. Just one of those things, not a first time either. Caused me 2 weeks of no sex or PE, £30 in blister plasters and general annoyance. Just trying bib for first time. I would like to try a combined hanging routine. Oh we’ll see. Good luck and keep me informed how you get on

I have been hanging with my vac 4.1 for about a week now and it goes pretty well for now, will be interesting how it goes with heavier weight. Right now I do about 2,5lb

@r.oates - i guess the newer model is better then. However, I can’t say for sure because I never had any of the previous models but I do get fatigue by the end of my 4th set with 6.6lbs.

I use a tape that I got with the newer model and I hope it will prevent the blisters.

Good luck with the Bib hanger. I guess I’ll buy it once I reach the max. on vac4.1.

@john_j - I also started with around same weight and now I am hanging 6.6lbs.
How many sets are you doing the moment? Do you take a regular 10 mins break in between sets?

I am curious because I can sometimes go beyond 20 mins but normally I tend to avoid it.

Turned out I was allergic to the tape I was using, itched like hell and took me ages to figure out what it was. I think I’m just over conditioned weight wise.

4x20min the first week and now 5x20min. I take at least 5-10min breaks. I’ve read recommendations not to hang more than 20min so I will never hang more then 20min.

Keep us updated, looking into buying a Vac extender kit so I can hang and ADS after sessions. Happy gaining.

How’s the vac-hanging going jaikai and others? Any gains?

I’m up to 6x20min sets now and recently increased weight to 2,9 pounds. No gains after one month, I hope more on this next month when I will increase weight every week (if I don’t get fatigue). I hang almost only BTC, I think I have gotten some fatigue when I started with 2,9 lb in BTC but now I’m used to it. Will increase weight in some days probably.

I have to move down to 10 lbs. On the 3rd set because of fatigue. I am making gains although they are slower now than when I first started. When I first used the Vac4 I would get some swelling(blisters) and then I started using a tape I got from Walgreen’s that sticks but is not painful when pulling it off after my session. I am finding that the better I tape the head the less swelling I get and I never have blisters now. I also use a pretty good vacuum on the system before starting hanging and that seems to help. I really like the Vac system compared to the Bib hanger but I am wondering if I will be able to eventually get to around 18lbs hanging with this system. I think that will be the most that I will ever hang with. I hang BTC mostly but have started hanging OTS.

Do you guys get any red dots or redness due to vacuum hanging? I started to get a little when I moved up to 3.4 pounds. I use antifluid tape and make full vacuum. I will take a restday today and try again tomorrow

Well, i haven’t checked my EL gains but my FL gains are great. I have increased my FL from 3.5” to 4.1”. I just hope that I have gained some EL also. I’ll be measuring now in the next year only.
