Started over the shoulder hanging

I notice every time i move up a 1/2 lb in weight it takes a week for my cock to adjust. So i clock watch for a week ,then its all good till the next increase in weight.

Yeah I’m right below a beam in the ceiling I’m going to get a hook because I really like the bungee cord thing because you can pull back and get some extra tension. But that bag thing is really cool

Hanging down was a pleasure the biggest problem was making sure I took the bib off in 20 minutes now I sit and look at the clock praying that the time is up. Any suggestion on making it more pleasant would be helpful and has anybody been getting some big gains this way.

What Bib said about getting a high back chair. Much more comfortable. I tried just draping the weight over my shoulder. I didn’t like it. My traps were more fatigued than my $$$$.

For the guys that support the weight with your shoulders - sheesh. You guys must have traps and a most muscular like Lou Ferrigno!

Nice Ali/Frazier avatar, YGuy.

Body weight hanging.

PS

Sounds very cool

Dino:

Think, ferns. Ferns are lovely. One would look real nice hanging from that beam over your work station. Block and tackle, Home Depot, about $4.00 for pulley pad eye nut and bolt. Wal-Mart’s $4.00 free weights. If anyone asks, lifting free weights with one’s foot underneath a Boston fern will prevent Carpel T. Syndrome.

Actually, the most comfy way to hang OTS at your keyboard is just mount you pad-eye bolt onto the bottom side of your desk and use a real short rope (mason line). You get the same pull and weights don’t have so far to drop to the floor in a crisis and are easier to hide. Not to mentuion the weights don’t have to come crashing down on your monitor. And, you don’t have to buy a fern.

$$$$ work and upper body training at the same time? :-k Well, that’s either gotta be a nice time saving maneuver or some type of PE-era circuit training.

Now that I think of it it sounds like an idea. A two for one.

All good idea’s guys. My shoulders have really been getting a workout because I’m using a bungee cord and I keep on doing shoulder shrugs to get an extra pull. A fern would brighten the room up though. I will most likely pick up the hook at the depo this weekend

Thanks man.

Dino, your traps are going to be huge if you keep this up.

Yeah I’m hoping to build them up because they have always been a weak point :) . When I work out I do chest shoulders and triceps on the same day and throw in 45 minutes of CV on a life cycle machine and 500 plus sit ups and I’m rushed for time so shoulders are my least favorite and seem to take the hit all the time with a cut back. And I tell my you shoulders have been sore since I started doing this so if I can two benefits bigger shoulders and a bigger dick I will be very happy.

I thought that was Ali in your avatar but I wasn’t sure and I didn’t know that was smoking Joe

Yeah, that pic was in Philly if I remember correctly. Ali led a crowd of would-be on lookers to the gym where Frazier was training. Ali acted like he wanted to fight him on the spot. Police thought there was going to be a riot. (Ali was a hell of a comedian, showman/ salesman as well as a hell of a fighter)

The Rumble in the Jungle was on ESPN2 last night. Ali kicked Foreman’s ass. Not with thundering shots, but with deft ring generalship. Sharp shots right on the button. Try snapping your head back and forth, you’ll see how dizzy it can make you.

He did the same thing to Sonny Liston. A lot of people thought that fight was fixed. But getting hit repeatedly on the button, as a guy charges ahead, while he gets tired - he gets KO’ed. Buster Douglas did the same thing to Mike Tyson.

But enough about boxing since this is a hanging thread. :)

Can I contribute 2 cents to this thread? I’ve just started a new method for me and it seems to be getting results. I use a bonji cord hung on the top hinge of a door for SU, SO from the handle or knob and the lower hinge for down or BTC if I turn around (back to the door). Then after whatever time I can devote to hanging (or in this case stretching) and reaching fatigue then I put on 5 golf club weights and wear them all day and into the evening. I try to maintain the club weights at least for the next three days, minus sleeping time or indefinitely if I can get in daily hanging time. Sometimes I’m pretty sporadic at my routine because of family activities. At any rate what I’m trying to do is lock in the hanging stretch after the bonji cord workout with the golf weights (5 rings=2lbs). I just measured this morning and it appears I’ve gained .25” in six weeks. I’m probably premature on my results but I’m excited at this point.

What I’m trying to do is keep the light weights on during the 3 phases of the lig healing time which is about 100 hours after tearing or damage from the stretching. I even feel a little fatigue while wearing the weights during the day. What I plan is to utilize the light weights all the time and the hanging to get the actual stretch I’m looking for. At this point it seems to be working.

Back to this thread. I like the SU stretch from the upper door hinge because during the stretch I can turn my body and change the angle of pull from one side to the other at will and really concentrate on what it feels like. Couple that with a dual fulcrum and you’ve got some great variations of stretching going on.

Any objective points of view about the above are welcomed.

Sounds pretty cool bro, I love the bungee cord action I really think it adds a whole new dimension to hanging.
