Start Counting your sets when you reach fatigue

I’ve have been hanging for one month now and I’ve realized that it takes me about 3-4 sets (10-15min a set) to start feeling fatigue in my ligs when I hang BTC with 5 pounds. Right when I started I was only hanging for 5-6 sets, 10 minutes each. That sixth set is where I started to really feel that deep burn. But I stopped hanging after the 6th set because I didn’t want to overdo it. But now I’m thinking, that I should start counting my sets after I begin to feel that deep burn because that’s where the growth will occur. What do you guys think?

My current routine:

Warmup for 10 minutes with hot water
Hang 5 pounds BTC for about two hours (I use a IR lamp for the first hour to hour and a half)
Jelq for 10 minutes
Cool down

Well man your just starting with hanging. And you should read BIB’s post on hanging and HANGING 101. You gotta do 3 /20 mins. But I do 4 /15 mins. Twice a day with 10/12 lbs. Hang every day 10 hours a week. Get the sore lig feeling the next day. That my goal. If it is sore that morning it will be sore during my first set.

I guess it wouldnt hurt to count the sets, I just recently started doing that. I think once you reach that deep burn you should cut the weight in half and then hang tell you feel fatigue with that weight. Your lucky you can feel fatigue at such light weight, cause I was not so lucky. Also I used to hang with IR light but I strongly believe know that IR heat is not as benificial as moist heat from a rice sock. But you can do what ever you want. And I also only really heat for the first two sets of my session. Another thing make sure you BTB jelq between sets to regain blood circulation, trust me it works.

Sounds good. For the rice sock do I just put rice in a sock and put in the in the microwave?

Ya, make sure its uncooked rice by the way im sure your smart enought to know that but i just want to make sure that you understood what i meant. And ya i wouldnt heat it longer than 2 minutes on the highest setting or else it might start to smell. Good luck with hanging

I am a nerd and will confirm that moist heat is better than IR heat. Why? Because moist heat (water) has more molecules to transfer the heat to your member. Dry heat (IR) only has air molecules to work with, so the heat transmission happens slower and your penis does not retain the heat as well, because it is not coming in as much.

This is also the exact reason why a 70 degree day feels nice, but 70 degree water is cold. It is affected by the same principle, just in the opposite manner. When heating, the heat is transferred from the hea source to your penis. When your body is hotter than the other object (swimming pool water) the heat is transferred from your body to the water.

One advantage to the IR heat is that it can heat while you are in the middle of a set without requiring any work. I would recommend the rice sock between sets, and IR heat during sets.
