Split sessions

I wasn’t able to complete my entire routine earlier, but now I can do the remaining two sets. Is it ok for me to break it up like this in order to complete my hanging routine? It wouldn’t be all the time, just when I get interrupted. Thanks

I have been doing my workouts split into two sessions per day. I don`t hang , but I think I get a more complete workout.

I was doing a spilt routine when I was doing only a manual routine, but now that I hang and I try to get it all in at one time.


Then 01/15/08 EBPL: 6.25 EG 5.10 Now 10/05/09 EBPL 7.75 EG 5.25 Girth work for 103 days.

New Short Term Goal: EBPL 8.0 EG 5.5 Lifetime goal 9x6.5 PE log and journal

You may get better results by splitting your routine into several sessions throughout the day.


Then (4.5 nbpel x 4.75 mseg)

Now (5.625 nbpel, x 5.25 mseg)

I hear split sessions are more effective (.e.g morning/ night), so I’m going to theorize as to why.

It’s quite possible a lot of those micro-tears you’re creating by hanging could heal over the course of several hours. If the tears are too big to heal that fast, perhaps they are not so micro after all (then that’s a macro tear, and this would imply an injury of some kind).

Anyway, doing a session much later in the day means you can create new tears, and new opportunity for growth to replace the tears that have already healed.

Here’s some quotes with links. You’ll notice there’s one situation below where a split session is not recommended. It seems recommended as long as you can reach fatigue with each session. Quotes follow from Ramrod, Westla, Bib.

The question is; can you reach fatigue using a split schedule? If you can, I would recommend it, spreading out the traction throughout the day, keeping the tissues in an extended state for longer periods.

But if you cannot reach fatigue with split sessions, then I would not recommed it.

Blink I went to Bibs website and read how he was an advocate for the split sets of hanging also. I think I am going to start doing that. Thanks for your help.
