you probably have a good idea of my routine of stretching with your BIB hanger. what kinda worries me(maybe it should not) is that the extreme soreness that i had the first month or so of doing it no longer happens. Is it a similar occurence to lifting in that your body adapts so that even though you make strength gains, the crippling soreness is maybe masked by more pain chemicals or something? I mean, don’t get me wrong, i still have soreness but it’s not like that “oh my god my unit is trashed” soreness I used to get. Your input? I just don’t want to think that i’m not working them enough!

This is normal as your body adapts to the stresses.

Well, a couple things: First, you will continue to adapt and the soreness will continue to decrease in a non-linear fashion. There will be times where you will put forth more effort or time and the great soreness will return. But you will become stronger.

Second, you will probably find, that with some rest time, the soreness will be greater after resuming the work. I think that after a good stretch of dedicated work, with a diminishing amount of fatigue, a rest period of a week or two could be really valuable.

During my gaining period, I had a couple of periods where I had to stop the work. One of nine days resulted in a period of really good fatigue for me after resuming.

Also, as you change the type of work, angles etc. , you will find the soreness returns.

1.)How did you determine “9 days”?? 2.)why do you think this benefited you??? 3.) I though after lay-offs most common reactions are increased difficulty handling weights that were easier before???

The nine days were on a trip to New York. Although I am from Texas, I was running for NY senator at the time. hehe. I also had other shorter layoffs at holidays.

My tissues were obviously weaker after the layoff, and were fatigued more easily after resuming work.

For me this is surely true. But the symptoms only lasted a couple of days for me, easily bruised etc.

Yes, I suppose you could say there is no sense in beating a dead horse. If you cannot fatigue under even heavy conditions, then it is better to take a rest than to continue as is. This is considering that gains have stopped.

This would take a while for me to acheive, and did not occur very often. In fact maybe two or three times during my gaining period after PEing for close to a year. Maybe more. Also, this was nothing planned or of great mind or thought. I simply continued to work and to go up in weight. Then, happened to have a forced rest period of a few days. Then, would find that fatigue returned much quicker and easier.
