Should I take rest days while hanging

I recently received my bib starter and have started a hanging routine. From reading the posts on this site I am not sure whether to take rest days or to hang everyday. The way I understand it is that you make gains well hanging in a fatigued state and that you do not want to let the damage caused from hanging heal completely. If you take 2 days off a week wouldn’t that heal all the damage caused and make any future gains that much harder? Should you hang everyday as long as you can hang atleast half of your max weight, or take off two days a week gegardless of how you feel?

That’s a good question, and one I’ve always had. Unfortunately, I don’t think the answer is really known. Some people report getting the best gains after a considerable rest period; others report the opposite. There are some good reasons why each one could be best. However, I’m betting on Bib’s notion that less rest is better (since the tissues have to be fatigued in order to gain) simply because he’s had more gains and experience than me. Also, it’s really hard for me to quit PEing for any considerable period… this shit’s really addictive :P

I think we’d benefit from some more scientific (scientific as possible, anyway) studies on the affect of rest duration on gains. Another variable that’s worth testing is amount of weight vs. hang time. I asked this question before, and I was told “weight is more important.” This really doesn’t answer my question, though. Obviously, 30 lbs for 1 minute can’t be more beneficial than 25 lbs for 20 minutes? A ratio would be nice, but there’s no real data about this yet, as far as I know.

IMO, that’s the ticket. As long as there is no pain.

It very possibly would. But some guys do not have the opportunity to PE every day. The best schedule would be the one solely dictated by the dick, and not something arbitrary like privacy time. Oh well.

I believe that is a good way to look at it. If it is simply too uncomfortable to hang half of your max weight, you probably need the rest. Try again the next day. If it is still too sore, take the day off.

I can see no situation where this would be correct or be of any help. If you feel fine, and have the privacy time, go with it.

For those that gain after a considerable rest, I believe it has to do with erection strength. IOW, their penis becomes so fatigued, that it affects their erection. With rest, things return to normal, blood flow increases, and the ruler is able to measure the advancement made while under fatigue.

I am not against rest. I just think there should be a reason when you do it. The idea behind hanging or stretching is traction. The longer spent in the extended state, and the further the extension, within reason, the more the tissues will be changed.

What is perfect for one guy will really screw up another guy, and have no affect on a third guy. Work up to the maximum time you have available for hanging, and then slowly move up in weight until you reach your max weight. That is the easiest way to put it.
