Hello guys,

I am currently on my 37th consecutive day of hanging and initially did not plan on taking a break before I reach my goals.

Is there any arguments that support taking breaks or days off when hanging?

Not necessarily taking a complete break either. Perhaps a period of lower volume and slightly lighter weights?

Or is it better to just keep at it?

I know that Bib would say to hang every day forever, since any time off causes the ligs and tunica to heal. However, I know there are other smart guys on the board who may have differing opinions that I would be interested in hearing.

Personally I think jelqing is a synergistic exercise and by including jelqing, you get better results from any other exercises you do, so I would never have a routine without any jelqing. But jelqing does require rest days.

If you are purely hanging, and are concentrating on hanging for longer periods of time at ‘sensible’ weights (for you), then I don’t think you need to take any rest days. If you are hanging for shorter, heavier periods (not the optimum way to hang) then I recommend rest/light days.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

Yeah, I feel really bad for not jelqing lately, but time has really not been on my side. I will try to see if I can incorporate jelqing at least 3 times a week. I am of the same opinion as you on this.

Regarding my hanging, I am using relatively low weights for 4 sets per day with an ADS for all my waking hours. Basically, my penis is either hanging with the Bib or with golf weights :D

I am thinking what would be the best strategy for reaching my goals and if there would even be a benefit in taking a break or reducing volume for a while.

Maybe reducing my hanging to one set daily while still using PE weights and doing some dedicated jelqing and pumping for a few weeks before starting a new gaining phase with the hanging.

At the moment I’m enjoying hanging heavy for 20-30 minutes a day then using my ADS for as long as possible. I haven’t measured so far but my flaccid is hanging low. Less time hanging means more time for other things which in turn seems to be keeping me consistent.

I’d say if you badly ache, like are really fatigued and hanging a low weight is just hurting then take a rest day, otherwise keep it going!
