Progressive Hanging?

Progressive Hanging?

I’m wondering if anyone has ever tried it. I saw some post on the web where MH claims it’s a good routine but I take everything he claims with a grain of salt. He talks about started out at a heavy weight and dropping down by the second set of the second day. He also talks about doing only 45 mins per day with this routine.

Seriously guys? No one?

Oh well I guess gonna have to go at it alone

Naturally you have to build up to a heavier weight. I got up to 30 pounds once but it kept slipping, so 27.5 wS really my max. You have to be conditioned for that, but even Bib recommends starting at your heaviest you’ve worked up to in order to hit fatigue as quickly as possible.

Serious starting point: Nov. 2, 2009/BPEL 5.75 x 4.75 inches.

Current BPEL 7 1/2 x 5.5 inches.

Goal: BPEL 8 x 6 inches. Hell, if I hit 8, I'm going for 9!

Hey,

I contacted swm and talked a bit about his routine (got banned by him).
I like the theory, but I think it is hard to pull off.
It fits well in a ipr-cycle or in the first weeks of hanging to condition yourself (to avoid hanger attachment fatigue caused by to many sets early on and be more efficient as long routines aren’t needed yet).

In my eyes the routine is a good way to condition yourself for higher weights.Therein lies the problem.
In the long run (i.e. after 6 months when most hanger see gains and start to cement) you will need more time under tension to gain further (bib’s solution: riding fatigue to very low weights) and therefore more sets and not necessarily weight increasements.
45-60 Min are sufficient for the first months, but then it makes more sense to increase time first to avoid going up in weights too fast.

I think most of the experienced extender-user and hanger agree when I say that 2-3 sets is not enough over a longer period to induce gains beyond the newbie-stage.
The efficient time under tension to create and cement (!) gains is very limited with this routine.
Don’t forget: You will need a warm-up set too (at least 10 Min).

In my eyes swm tries to convince beginner to start hanging early on in their career to sell the easy attainable newbie-gains as direct result of his hanging routine although they could have achieved the similar results in the same time with a more safe and easily executed newbie-routine for example( without risking a hardcore conditioning that follows a hanging routine and risking injuries or negative pi’s like numbness, bad eq).

All in all, I think the progressive routine is a nice sales pitch as the main reason why most of the pe guys avoid hanging is the time that is needed to be invested on a regular basis.

Please ask swm for some good logs that prove his theories.
Unfortunately he didn’t send me any links. Did you find good threads?
If not, it seems like you have to take his word on this one ;)

No I would never take his word for anything…other then how to wrap lol. And no I didn’t ask him for threads because I would never join a pay site that pushes products nor have I ever communicated with him. I own a bib hanger because when I did a search for hangers his fake accounts pushing his hanger came up all over PE sites and there’s a whole thread at MOS on his bullshit being called out….a little bit later he’s there giving money and moderating…..hmmmmmm. So based on his slime ball sales tactics I spent more money for a bib. Because if your willing to lie a little, your willing to lie a lot. Also as someone who’s been in sales of higher end products, if you need to bad mouth the competition and base your product on price point alone your most likely selling garbage. Or your extremely desperate. You sell based on your product and what’s good about it, not what’s wrong with the comp and their higher price.

Isn’t it something how a commercial account there can also be a “mod” and as soon as you call them out on their collective shit you get banned? You would catch me dead there.

As far as progressive hanging goes it’s not for me, I’d rather find my sweet spot and ride it. I’m not going to and never will hang two hours a day again it’s just too time consuming and mind numbing. I’ve been doing an hour a day 5 days a week with lots of stretching using a cheap clamp as an assist rather then some bullshit penis wrench those guys will try to sell you lol. I’ve also been using a cheap vac extender/ hanger as an ADS a couple hours a day and about 4 days a week I do some pumping to maintain my girth gains. And I also clamp after my hanging sets. I’ve gotten an 1/8 inch in length in about 6 weeks, 10 pounds is my max right now but I’ve hung before so it’s not a heavy weight for me.
