What about those that are hanging OTS and stretching tunica?

I would be interested to know What was your MAX weight when you started to gain consistently from hanging?

I remember reading a post from Bib where he stated that he didn’t get big gains until he got up to 25 lbs. I had a spotty 7 month stretch of hanging, reaching 17 1/2 lbs and my gains were negligible, maybe 1/4”. I stopped hanging for a deconditioning period, started jelqing and than hanging again. I’ve been very serious the past 7 weeks and I’m now at 22lbs. with a definite increase both in flaccid, erect and girth. Tomorrow is measuring day.

One more hanging info nugget. I use my weightlifting plates and the smallest one I have is 2 1/2 lbs. When you have 20 lbs hanging on your dick, that’s a big percentage wise increase. I recently purchased some golf type weights from monty. Each weighs 10 oz. and they make it much easier to ratchet up the poundage slowly. It might take me half of the 20 minute set to get to my max, but it’s not in 2 1/2 lb jumps.

Good point and this is what I do too.

The poll could be distorted some because some are hanging BTC, SD, SO and OTS. All these different angles can effect gains. Just as an example, one could start with a 6 LOT and hang OTS to raise the LOT and not see any gains until the LOT was raised. Then when they started hanging BTC they might see gains with little weight.

Minimum one hour per day (plus breaks), aimed for four sets per day (20 minutes each). Not that long really when you consider I was already at my desk for that time anyway!

Ideally, we’d want to know the hanging angle as well. Everybody should feel free to supply that info. We can sort it out later if we get enough data.

My personal motivation behind this thread is that I’m pushing 20# BTC with no gains to speak of. I feel something may be coming soon, and that I’m really stretching the ligs now, but I’ve had that feeling before with no results. I’m wondering whether this is normal.

I suspect that I have very tough ligs. My abdominal muscles are very strong, and the ligs essentially extend from the same structures that anchor the rectus abdominis muscles to the pubic bone. I wouldn’t be surprised if I just require more force than most people. I just hope my dick survives.

Andrew69,

I think you must hold the record for gains per pound-hour. I know that you only have one dick, so this might not be a fair question, but do you have any idea what anatomical or physiological characteristics might account for your gains at such low weight and even modest time?

I started with 6 lbs for about 4 months (an hour a day or so) and then stepped it up to 8 lbs for 5 months, all w/o much gain. Then I took a year off and started with 10 lbs for a month and am now comfortable at 12 lbs. I hang for 2 hrs a day (4 x 30 min sets) about 4 days a week. I feel a good lig stretch now and seem to see a gain in FL but it is hard to measure. I note that my BPFSL has gained about 1/8”

Hey Hairguy, SixerMan, and UlCasterDropout,

I probably should have made “Never” a separate category. Did you guys ever gain from hanging, or did you decide to stop torturing your dicks when you got over 25#?

My first set of the day is very pleasurable. I start with 15 lbs and when that weight is fully hanging, it feels excellent. As I slowly reach my max, there is no pain, just a great feeling of stretching. My first go around with hanging, I tried to go up in weight too fast and I would be literally sweating out the last few minutes of each set. This time I use the last few minutes to really pull the ligs out. I hang SD, seated and by arching backwards into BTC, I can really feel the stretch. I know when I hit 25 lbs. this time, it wouldn’t be torture.

It’s just my option but I think the most important thing is reaching fatigue and hanging in this state. If you can reach fatigue with little weight or a lot of weight, you need to get to fatigue and hang as much as you can in this state dropping weight as you see fit. We all know that the more time one spends hanging that it Will require more weight to reach fatigue. Another thing to consider is the position one hangs. As an example, you could hang SD with 15lbs or hang BTC with 10lbs and reach the same fatigue state. I think another thing guys make a mistake in is moving up too fast in weight trying to get fatigued. Instead of increasing weight over 3 sets, one should hang more sets of the lesser weight to keep the tissues from becoming too conditioned and requiring a break.

Don’t forget MM that although I gained pretty well with hanging, it does not come close to what I gained using manual PE (0.7 inches hanging vs 1.5 inches manual).
The only thing I can think of is that I heal very, very quickly. As in a pretty serious cut on my finger last year (almost to the bone), totally healed (as in I didn’t even know where I cut it) in under a week.
For the same type of injury, my wife would take a good month to heal the same way.
I always traction wrapped for as long as I could after hanging (minimum several hours), so maybe that helped.
But even after all my gains, my flaccid is still rather small :( 4x4 on a very good day.
Still very much a grower, so perhaps it has something to do with tissue flexibility.

Snm can you please go more in depth on hanging with less weight for more sets? If you can :)

The key is constant stretching throughout the day, whether it be manual or hanging. I break my stretching up into 4 parts throughout the day. In the morning, I do 2 sets of hanging. Around 11:00 I go to the bathroom and stretch for 5 minutes. Around 3:00 I stretch for another 5 minutes. After I get done lifting at night, I come home and stretch some more. I’m currently devising a new stretching technique. Will see if gives me good results, and if it does, I’ll tell everyone here.

Maybe you have more elastin in proportion to collagen than most people. Your comment about healing quickly is really interesting because it goes against Bigger’s view that healing fast was the problem for hard gainers. Bigger actually thought Vitamin C was counterproductive for gains, because it encouraged faster healing of connective tissue, i.e., strength before length.
