OTS vs. SD

OTS vs. SD

What’s up everyone, if any of you can help me with this question I’d greatly appreciate it. I had lengthening surgery over the summer and was told by my doctor to start a hanging program. He only offered the SD method and made no mention of the OTS. I’ve been hanging SD for months now and have only gained about 1/4”. After doing some reading here, it seems that due to having my ligaments surgically severed there is really not much point in doing SD, especially considering I have a low LOT. Wouldn’t the best method for someone like me be OTS? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

you must hang at high angles if you have a low LOT. OTS is possible, but is is difficult to use the right force which works best for you. I also have a low LOT. I screwed a pulley on the ceiling so I can use weights while I hang at 11:00.

good luck

You has surgery and your still not at your desired length?

If you don’t mind me asking.what was the point!

How much length did you gain from the surgery alone (before the 1/4” from hanging)?

What type of hanger are you using? How many sets, length of sets and how much weight are you using?

Hanging at lower angles post-op makes a lot of sense. The point is to stretch the ligs so they heal in an elongated state. Do upper angles after you’ve maximized the potential of your lig surgery.

I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with the surgery. Most of my gain has been in the flaccid state only and that’s been a little less than an inch! The 1/4” gain has been in the erect state. In the beginning I didn’t have any erect gain.

I’m using the grip system. I gradually built up to the prescribed 8 lb regimen for a total of 1.5 to 2 hours a day.
I do sets of 15 to 20 minutes. I sometimes did longer but I cut back after developing some black spots on the glans.

Alright, that does make sense. I’ve been hanging 8lb SD for about six months now. I switched to 20 min OTS sets for up to 2-3 hours starting a couple of weeks ago. Is that good timing or should I have stuck with SD a little longer?

Would you say the reason for my low LOT is the fact that the ligaments have already healed in an elongated position and it’s time to switch to high angles?

It’s certainly plausible. I did not know you have hung SD for 6 months. Perhaps it is time to switch angles and attack the tunica. If you feel you have gotten all the lig gains you can get, stick with OTS. Most guys believe the LOT can be raised with high angle hanging/stretching. Check your LOT again after a few months and decide whether to go back to low angles, or stick with high angles.

I thought SD hanging was required after lig snipping surgery to prevent the ligs from reattaching and actually contracting. You need to follow the Dr.’s advice on this one, or you can end up with a shorter dick than when you started.

If the surgery didn’t result in significant gains, it’s probably because you had a low LOT to begin with. A person without much lig potential simply won’t gain much by having the ligs cut.

I recommend you talk to your doctor before switching to OTS. You want to make sure you are beyond the point where you need to hang SD to prevent reattachment and contraction.

If the Dr. says it’s OK, then by all means switch to OTS. It will probably be more effective at targeting the inner tunica than SD, and may provide you with additional gains.

Enter your measurements in the PE Database.

Thanks for your input guys. Thankfully I haven’t lost any length after the surgery even though the gain has been pretty pathetic. As I said before, I’ve been hanging OTS for a couple of weeks now. I have a high back chair that I hang the weight from and it gives me a 12 o’clock angle. Is 12 too high? Because otherwise it’s much more comfortable than SD.
