Off days for extending-hanging

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to ask if you guys have off days for your extending/hanging routines? Also, if the point of going into the extender is to prevent turtling and promote healing in an extended state, does that mean I should not be taking off days for extender use?

Never rest when hanging, and if you must, manually stretch on the rest days.


Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

The point in using an extender is not to prevent turtling or ‘healing in extended state’.

The topic has been treated many times; many people who have successfully used an extender used to take some days off from time to time feeling that it was beneficial. That should be even more true with hanging, since generally more tension is used compared with an extender.

The idea that rest days are the absolute evil, and other funny beliefs like ‘healing in exended state’ or ‘pulling out the inner penis’ are based on wrong assumptions about the penis anatomy.

So I guess the answer is still an “up to you” kind of thing? Some promote rest others don’t. I’m doing the newbie routine mon/tue and thur/fri after which I hang and extend after. Wanted to know if I should be taking the weekends off or continuing in my hanging+extending.

I wouldn’t mix too many things. So said, hanging and extender are similar, but not exactly the same thing. If you want to use an extender, add just some jelq session to help EQ, and take rest days when you find that you have trouble extending at the length you were already wearing the device, it it’s clear what I mean.

No, sorry its not quite clear. So I continue my newbie routine mon/tue/thur/friday. And only do 1? Either hanging or extending? Then on weekends I should rest?

My advice is just do the newbie routine for 3 months at least, than if you have gains go on doing just manuals. Doing more doesn’t mean having faster gains, most of the times the adverse.

I did the newbie routine for about 4 months in the past before I had to stop completely from an injury. I started again and have been doing the newbie routine consistently for 5 months now. I only added extending with a vac extender and some light hanging for conditioning (1.5-2.5lbs) about 3 weeks ago. You think this is still too much? I don’t think I gained much from just the newbie routine, but have seen definite flaccid gains and maybe minor erect length gains with the hanging/extending.

Yes “up to you”. Try it out for yourself each way and see what you like, and what works for you. A lot of hangers go every single day, zero rest days as a-unit mentioned. Personally I take a rest day here and there, but I’ve noticed I don’t need rest days as often as I would for manual stretching. Use common sense and definitely take a rest day if it feels like you need one.

What kind of injury and what the cause?

If you are sure that manual exercises are not effective for you, than just focus on exending or hanging, with just some jelqs for EQ. Doing both a full manual routine and hanging will just add uneffective stress and beside that if you gain something you can’t be sure if it is due to hanging, to manual exercises or both. In your boots I would go with the extender befor trying hanging, I’ve seen a higher percentage of guys gaining with an extender than with hanging.

Check out how the custom behaves, you could have trouble for a hanger shipped from outside your country.

I have made my hanger and it seem ok it’s strong and could hold 20kg easy maybe more am not going to hang that much on my penis though dont want it to snap off now do I laughing.
