New Hanger?

I went to home depot today and I bought this thing I saw, I think it was called a PVC repair clamp. Its by all the PVC stuff. The one I bought was 1/2” so I might go and return it tomorrow for a bigger size becuase it wont fit. But I think this might work for hanging, I’ll attach a pic so you can tell me if you guys think it will work for hanging. It has some rubber padding inside but might have to put some of my own padding in it.
