Hey guys, I’ve been doing jelqing routines for about a year now. I’m thinking about getting into hanging.

After I’ve read everything, it seems like the best hanger out there is the bib hanger, correct?

I am planning to hang with the bowflex if that matters at all.

This thread = ultimate. Thanks for the hanging resources, this should keep me reading for a while.

There should be a Hanging Gains thread, so people can tell us how much the know or think they gained specifically from hanging alone.

I’d like to get into it, but I can’t really find any information as to how good hanging is and how much people gain.


Start - 09/10: BPEL: 5.9" Mid-Shaft EG: 4.5" Base EG: 4.8"

August 2015: BPEL: 7" Mid-Shaft EG: 5.1" Base EG: 5.8"

Goal: BPEL: 7.5" EG: 6.0"

I gained 1/8” in two months hanging up to 7 1/2 pounds seated (BTC) and I’m sure I’ve gained more since, but haven’t measured again.


Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

That sounds pretty good for only 2 months and relatively low weight.

Yep, but I’ve found that as long as the ligs stay sore you are getting results.

And no rest days. This isn’t bodybuilding, this is plastic deformation!

From what I read its not really the weight its keeping your ligaments at fatigue and not letting them build back up by taking days off.

Would you say it’s better to do 3x20 minutes in one sitting or spread out through the day (morning/afternoon/evening)?

I think I tend to get better results by spreading it out throughout the day, although that is not always easy to do in the 9-to-5 workday world.
