I’ve worked my way up to 10 pounds 3 sets of 20 min’s per with the homemade bib it works great I just use a theraband for the wrap. Is going past 3 sets a day necessarily how many of you do more then 3 sets a day? Also I feel good at 10 pounds and I’ve read to only to move up when you stop gaining and to add sets instead of weight first. Can I make gains at 3 sets? I’ve seen people doing 6 sets a day and I simply don’t have that kind of time, but I don’t want to waste my time either is 3 sets something I will see gains out of etc.. Any help would be great thank you.

Yes, hanging is very time intensive.

I think I’ve always heard 10 hours of actual hang time a week is the goal, so that would be 30 sets a week at 20 minutes each. I don’t know if that’s an “old theory” that may not be relevant anymore, or that gains can’t come from less hanging time. I have also read that more than 4 hours of hang time a week at any one angle is not necessary and is subject to diminishing returns, so if you’re hanging at a single angle, i don’t see why 3 sets a day wouldn’t be enough for gains.

I usually only get 5 days a week in, 6 if I’m lucky and resourceful, so I usually do 5-6 sets on the days I get to hang to try to get to the 10 hour minimum. I’ve worked up to that amount over a long time though.

No proof that there is a minimum time required to see gains. But if you can raise a bit the time under tension, either with (moderate) manual stretches or an extender, that would speed up gains probably.

I hang generally 3 sets of 20 minutes a day at 10lbs. I haven’t felt the need to add more sets (nor do I have the time to do so). I’ve been gaining at a steady rate for the last 3 months or so. Take note that I do manual stretches and jelqs when I can.
