More hanging without heating better than less with

I can hang 7 hours a week, warming up and warming down. In between would it be better if whilest doing something else-can’t warm up or down, that I hang for 20 mins here and there?

You could always try it for a month and see if it’s helping you make progress. As long as you don’t get injured, I don’t know if anyone could say it’s hurting you.

I do wonder whether its a significant injury risk or if it’s irrelevant (hanging with no warm up or warm down). Perhaps the longer you’ve been hanging the less that will matter (I’m completely speculating).

Have you been hanging a long time? (6 months? close to a year?)

Something is always better than nothing. How do you feel about the cool down process in stead of the warm down? It seems to be a good theory. I’ve been doing it recently, I’ll post the results in a few months.

From my experience hanging gains are relevant to time in the hanger. IOW my data shows that for every 22 sets, of which I may get in 2 to 3 sets per session/ one session per day not consistent, I will gain about 1/8” . That was a consistent conclusion. I’m sure that varies per individual and routine. I have to tell you that it was a surprise when I found that data. I was asked what my gain was per hanging time and with the data I had that’s what I came up with. I thank whoever it was that asked the question because I didn’t realize it my self until I ran the numbers.

Monty, how many of those sets were you doing per day? I would imagine there’s diminishing returns beyond a certain point in sets done per day. I suppose Bib thinks theres an effectiveness dropoff after 4hrs in a day (I know he likes split sets, so I’m reading into this—perhaps that would imply 2hrs morning/ 2hrs night).

I’m still new to hanging, so I haven’t figured any of this out yet for myself.

As I said 2 to 3 sets per session. Usually 1 session per day. There was no consistency in getting in a session as privacy issues and work etc, etc
