Hi all,

I did a couple of searches on kegeling while hanging and found an article on another forum where a member advised against this because it will toughen up the ligs quicker. This seems illogical to me for many reasons. I just wanted to throw it out there and get some additional thoughts.

Kegel’ have about nothing to do with the ligs. I don’t think that Kegeling while hanging is useful though.

I have also wondered if kegeling while hanging has benefits.

By some measure, even hanging is toughening the ligaments. If kegeling was having an effect on the ligaments (which I don’t believe it is), it seems it would be beneficial during hanging. The logic felt wrong, but I wanted to check with the PExperts, lol.

I think what happens is that when some of us kegel, we also flex some other muscles which causes a shift in position which may make hanging feel different during the kegel. Perhaps this gives the illusion of the kegel having an effect when it is just the change in position.

BTW…ever have a violent sneeze sneak up on you while hanging? That might be worth an extra 1/2” right there or a trip to the hospital…maybe both.

I am more concerned with it having negative effects. If it does not then I will continue to kegel while hanging.
