Mo, that was always my guiding principle. Theory should not be dogma; and the LOT Theory was never meant to be more than a diagnostic tool, that’s all. And, BTW, by my interpretation, I would not consider an 8:30 LOT to be indicative of more lig gains. I would figure the LOT would need to be above 9:00.

Anyway, good luck with your new approach.

I was going on Bib’s advice. He thought I should continue lig work until my LOT reached 6 or 7.

Strangely, my LOT seemed to climb, rather than fall, with the more lig work I did. This, among other things, lead me to doubt LOT Theory. Then, once I got the LOT Simulator working, I could plainly see that LOT did not necessarily have anything to do with lig potential.

As you said, LOT Theory is just a theory. Look for a new version of the LOT Simulator in the next couple of weeks. I’ll finally have some time to work on it. I think it will be more accurate than the previous versions and will shed more light on LOT Theory.

Orion, just click on “PE Data Site” at the bottom of the page, then view all. Lots of inspiring stats. I got 1” in 3 months, just from modest manual stretching (LDP and rotary — search for definitions).

Start: 6.3 x 5.2 (Feb '05)

Now: 7.9 x 5.65 (gain 1.6 x 0.45) - SFL 8.6"

Goal: 8.5 x 6.0 - Currently trying: handclamp squeeze, O-bends. My data - Progress log

If not the lot theory shows your lig potential, what else shows you your lig potential?

Look and feel. Dig your finger down into your pubic area. If you can trace the contour of your pubic bone and your shaft seems to be attached high on the bone, you probably have good lig potential. If your shaft seems to be attached low on the bone, so that you really can’t imagine gaining any length by peeling it down and off the bone, you probably have little lig potential.

All that aside, the best way to learn whether you have lig potential is to try downward hanging. If you’re feeling fatigue from hanging for a month or two but don’t see any progress on the ruler at all, then your lig potential may be low. Switch to high angles and try to make progress that way.
